Re: And some more Born Free photo fun..

Thats is a neat picture. I see some tag along BFs around, but usually parked some where rusting away. Never seen anything road worthy. Anyway the old school RV had Montana plates. The RV park where I am, is in OR. Didn't talk to the guy. Should have. This morning he had it jacked up and was working...

Re: And some more Born Free photo fun..

I think I posted this one a while ago, but it's a good one... This was in Algona a couple of years ago. I pulled in and just couldn't resist taking this. I believe it was a '77-'79 (not sure exactly.) https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1647/25223912595_6660476c1a.jpg Born Free campers in Algona, IA by R...

Re: Dometic refrigerator not cooling.

Just to make sure everyone knows that the burner will operate only when operating off of LP. When operating off of AC power, then a electric heating element replaces the open flame burner. Bill, his issue is that the refrigerator won't cool properly either on propane or with 110AC when he's driving...

Re: Dometic refrigerator not cooling.

Roger, I just checked and yes we do have it set on auto. When I ran the generator the propane light on the display panel went out and the refrigerator switched to AC. When the generator was turned off it switched back to propane. I think you're right that the issue's we're having are related to the...

Re: Dometic refrigerator not cooling.

Roger, I agree it seems like the burner isn't staying lit but when I ran the generator it didn't make a difference. Do you know if there's a way to check if the refrigerator is switching from propane to AC via the generator? Thank you for your response, Dave I don't know your specific model, but th...

Re: Dometic refrigerator not cooling.

Dave, what are you powering the refrigerator with while you're driving, propane or the generator/AC?

If you're running it on propane, it sounds like perhaps you're missing a baffle and the burner can't stay lit, but does fine when the airflow stops.

Re: Level with slides out?

... While I realize the aforementioned problems are with products made by other companies, it is very frustrating to have to handle all of this without the intervention of Born Free. The dealer we purchased from is 4 hours away on a good day. Additionally, we haven't even owned this unit for 2 year...

Re: BF Weight

This seems to be a recurring theme on most motorhome marque discussion sites. Everyone recognizes that the rear axle of their coach seems to be overloaded to one degree or another. What I HAVEN'T heard much about are axle failures, rear axle bearing failures, or tire failures attributable to said &q...

Re: Does rear door BF mean wet bath?

Thanks Roger. What about a split bath? Have you ever heard of a Born Free with a split bath? Yes, my 32RQ is a split bath. The shower is across the hall from the commode and sink. Some of the later, larger Born Frees in the Imperial and whatever the next size down was also had unique bath arrangeme...

If the ones you have are Flexsteel, it might be worth calling the factory to see if they can refurbish the ones you have.

Re: Does rear door BF mean wet bath?

Recognizing that as a custom coach builder, there are no absolutes with Born Free coaches, but it's probably safe to say that since most of the rear-door units produced were the standard 22' Built-for-Two twin bed/couch floorpan, that most of them would in fact have wet baths. I suppose you could ha...
