Re: Seat Belt on couch - If you have them what length are yo
We have two sets of seatbelts for the Flexsteel couch in our 2013 BF. We're headed out next week so I'll measure them next Monday and post the results.

Re: Radio/touchscreen problem
We have a Panasonic (factory original) in our 2013 and the screen is removable. If yours is similar, you might try popping the screen out and reseating it.

Re: Adding a seatbelt??
We had the factory add 2 seatbelts to the jackknife sofa in our 2013 model. As described above, the bolts go through the floor (which in our case is mostly above the generator/battery bay. They stay on the floor (storage compartment area) when not in use. The only trick we've found is to make sure a...

Re: Electric Day/Night Shades
We have the AutoMotion shades on our 2013 coach (although with individual switches at each window) and I would concur that a manual shade would be preferable. The one on the rear window stopped working about a year after we got the coach. Kim thought it was a bad switch so he sent a few replacements...

Re: Norcold LP/AC/DC refrigerator "cool" not cold?
Ralph & Judy, Somewhat off-topic, but if your wife's mobility issue is the only reason you are considering giving up RVing, you should know that BF makes Mobility RVs. Ours is a 2013, 26', and it's the only way Matt can travel at all now. He was using an electric scooter when we started, but now...

Re: Advice for busted Jack antenna
Thanks for the starter ladder tip - somehow I never knew they existed! I found the antenna on Amazon so I'll order one and get it installed. The incident happened when I went to an auto upholstery place that is re-upholstering the sofa bed so that it lies flatter to make it more usable for Matt. Hop...

Advice for busted Jack antenna
I was driving our coach through a parking lot in a light-industrial park and didn't notice a low hanging cable. Yup, you guessed it, it sheared off the Jack antenna. Someone nicely climbed up on top of the coach for me to retrieve it (I'm too short to reach the bottom step of the ladder!). There's b...

Generator Service in Austin and DFW
Had an excellent experience with generator service by Gen-Tech Austin (Fred Summers). Very knowledgeable (he had several other mechanics calling him for consultations in the 40 minutes he was working on my generator). Went above and beyond the basic service - showed me some tricks and even cleaned t...

Re: What do you think of Induction Cooktops?
I've had an induction cooktop (4 burner) in my home kitchen for the past 4+ years and never want a regular cooktop again. That said, I cook nearly every evening while out in the Born Free and I'm not sure I'd want to have to fire up the generator for that if we were dry camping, especially since I s...

Re: Converting hinged door to slide door
We had our coach built with a curtain (actually two curtains) rather than a door. The best shower solution for my husband's disability was the old-style wet bath with a custom (low) threshold. The factory put a lightweight nylon curtain, weighted at the bottom, on one track and a second decorative f...

Re: Small Appliances ?
Had a small Mr. Coffee at first but it gave up the ghost (it was very old anyway). So I switched to Melita pour-over coffee, but the Aeropress does look very interesting.

Driver's seat won't move!
Pulled into the RV park this afternoon and powered the Flexsteel 6-way driver's seat back to get into the coach before I went to check in. When I came out, seat won't move (in any direction). Makes no noise at all when the buttons are punched. Sat on the front of the seat to get into the campsite. I...

Re: Check out this BF with Handicap Access on Craigs.
The factory can do all kinds of customizations for accessibility, based on the production models. We worked with John Eastman at the factory to design our unit, which made it possible for us to travel places we haven't been able to visit in years. They have a page on the website that shows some of t...
