Flexsteel Swivel Chairs Seat Height Too Low?
Flexsteel has modification parts available to raise the seating height of their swivel chairs by approximately 2". Call Customer Service Manager Kim Olson at the Born Free factory about this modification. I purchased the parts from Kim to modifiy both seats for only $21.40 and did the installat...

SLOW DRAIN PROBLEM ON MY GRAY TANK
Well after driving 78 miles from home to the Born Free factory in Humboldt, IA the slow drain problem dissapeared. Before leaving home, I had filled the gray tank about 1/3 full with clean water so that I could demonstrate the slow drainage problem when I got there, but, evidently the problem just w...

E-350 Engine?
You say that your Born Free has an E-350 engine? That could be either a 6.8 L V10 gas engine or a 6.6 L Power Stroke Diesel engine. On my V10 gas engine, I change oil somewhere between 4000 and 5000 miles generally. I think Ford probably recommends a longer interval between changes for their diesel ...

REAR SEAT BELTS
In my 2002 BF 26' RSB, I have 3 seats of belts for the Flexsteel sofa and also belts for the two captain's chairs near the pullup table. Since no one ever travels sitting on the sofa in our coach, I have pulled those 3 belts out of sight thru the crack between the back and the seating area of the so...

Born Free Pricing
I think you will find that, like Lazy Daze, the factory sets the pricing and it and all of it's dealers are required to sell at that price MSRP - no 25% discounts like generally available from dealers of Winnebago or Fleetwood RV's. Occassionally, the factory offers deals such as a free generator or...

Restricted Gray Tank Drain
I don't think the problem with the gray tank is a plugged vent, because if it were that, the water from the tank should initially gush out like normal and then the outflow should slow down as the vacuum builds up in the tank. Also, the tank outflow should start gurgling - that would be necessary to ...

Partially plugged gray tank drain!
When I drained the gray tank upon leaving the RV campground on my last outing, the tank drained normally. When I arrived home, I normally refill both the black and gray tanks with clean water twice each tank and drain them to clean them out throughly. When I did this on my last trip, the gray tank t...

XM Antenna Location.
I use a Roady II XM radio adapter in my Born Free and also discovered the problem of no reliable reception when driving North. I solved the problem in my case by locating the antenna near the fiberglass roof inside the cabover section - I have the entertainment center option in my 26' RSB model. If ...

Winegard Batwing vs Delta TV Antenna Peformance
While parked near several other BF motorcoaches at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds during the Born Free factory Homecoming Celebration, I was able to compare the TV reception performance of my Delta antenna vs a couple of coaches that had the Winegard Batwing Sensor III antenna system and the Winega...
