Replacement Dual 30/20 amp Circuit Breaker

The dual 30/20 amp circuit breaker is the left most breaker in the Parallax 7345 Power Panel. It protects the 115 vac power coming into the coach and is a common failure. The failure mode is that the breaker will over-heat creating a burned plastic smell and then the breaker will trip. Touching the ...

Re: Leak? 24RB ever seen this area water damaged

I could see that happening with a rear door Born Free. However since the OP has a 24’ RB coach with a right side door, the distance between that door and the toilet makes is unlikely that the leak would reach that far. But thank you for your input.

Re: Leak? 24RB ever seen this area water damaged

Bob, I doubt that a toilet valve leak would cause water damage near the walk-in door.

Re: Possible power for BF 24RB

Unfortunately I think that battery is probably too large to fit in your BornFree’s battery compartment. And it’s weight at 173 lbs would also probably be too heavy for the battery compartment structure to support that much weight if the battery would in fact fit.

Defective 30/20 amp input power circuit breaker

I just had to replace the 30/20 amp dual power input circuit breaker in my 2002 26’ RSB coach now for the 2nd time. The evidence of its pending failure is that this particular breaker starts tripping when the current load is way below the 30 amp rating such as when only running the air conditioner a...

Re: Coach battery recommendations?

Your Born Free probably came originally equipped with Interstate SRM-27 deep cycle coach batteries. I am currently on my 3rd set of Interstate batteries and found that with proper care will last around 5 years. I actually replaced mine with the larger size and capacity SRM-31 batteries. They will fi...

Re: Overhead cabinet struts

No. Properly operating struts should hold a cabinet door open when opened. Do none of your struts work that way?

Re: Overhead cabinet struts

Tom, photobug has a BF with the newer type cabinets that use different type hinges and hydraulic struts instead of the type of hinges you referred to in your post above.

Re: De-winterization Disaster

I checked my inventory of RV antifreeze and I have mostly the Super Tech brand. This is the brand commonly sold by Walmart. It is alcohol based whereas the preferred type based on my recent research is a Propylene glycol based product - which of course is more expensive.

De-winterization Disaster

I have owned my 2002 26’ RSB coach since 2005 and over the years have winterized it the same way using pink RV antifreeze. Since I never used the coach in 2020 due to the COVID restrictions it was last winterized in the late fall of 1999. So last Tuesday got the coach out of storage and began the de...

Re: Battery box wiring

I have what I hope is a simple question. I bought my Born Free 26 foot unit a little over a year ago. Since the Covid, I did not get to use it last summer or winter. So when I parked it I did not take a picture of the battery wiring in the battery box. I only had one battery in the box. There are 3...

Re: What powers what?

Steve, well you seemed to indicate that one or more of your ac outlets had power without being plugged in shoreline power or with the generator running. The only way for this to be possible is that those particular outlets must be getting power from an optional inverter itself being powered by your ...

Re: What powers what?

Bill and Ben, thanks so much. That feedback is really helpful and gives me plenty to go on. Interestingly the AC did power the roof air con unit and the microwave, so is that a case of the converter being sufficient for those two appliances but not the fridge or water heater? Steve The charger/comv...
