Re: Cab over conversion

Mark, I believe that the factory has done several conversions over the years and suggest you call Kim Olson (800-247-1835) for help and approximate costs.

Re: Trailer Hitch Cargo Carrier

Roger, if your 1999 rear bumper is the same as our 2002, adding a access door and drilling new holes for the pin made it easy to utilize a standard length
bar/hitch. Also access to the pin required a key for more security. Born Free made the addition while we were attending one of their rallys.

Re: Extra Storage - Tow Trailer?

When it comes to weighing a motorhome the only accurate way is wheel position weighing. This gives you the exact weight on each corner of your coach. The best place to check out this method is http://www.rvsafety.com We have used them in the past and they are a very professional group. The only prob...

Re: Please...All members deserve respect.

Having been motorhoming since 1969 I will say that having access to the club roster can be a lifesaver if you have a coach problem when traveling. Being able to contact another Born Free owner for recommendations for service, advice on campgrounds or places to visit, always makes me feel much better...

Re: Do Air Shocks Lose Air?

Years ago I installed the Air LIft Load Controller system and was very pleased with the results http://www.airliftcompany.com/products/compressor-systems/loadcontroller/ I see from their current website they have come a long way making the system more user friendly and easier to install. Great to kn...

Re: Roadmaster anti-sway bars

Reni, years ago I installed the IPD (now Roadmaster) sway bars both front and rear and was pleased with them. Also installed the Saf-T-Plus steering stabilizer and Koni shocks. All items made improvements in the ride and handling of our coach (2002 26RB). Like all modifications, it seems to come dow...

Re: Adhesive to Use?

Dallas, generally speaking caulking refers to a waterproof filler & sealant and chalking refers to oxidation of the fiberglass. Hope this helps.

Re: Travasak

As Joel mentioned in his post we purchased two lightweight sleeping bags at Walmart that we zipped together making one full size unit. Connie then stitched two sheets together along the bottom edge to insert in the now double sleeping bag. This made it very easy to remove them for washing and has wo...

Re: Guage no work, how do I know when GREY tank is full?

Steve, prior to Born Free using the SeeLevel system I installed their 709PH model in our 2002RB. If the system is initially programmed correctly I found it to be very accurate and dependable. If you are not able to correct your problem by referring to the Troubleshooting guide in owners manual I wou...

Re: Tire Replacement

Just a reminder that it is always a good idea to remove the wheel covers unless you have confidence that the tire shop is familiar with the type Born Free uses on their coaches and that the lug nuts are torqued to 140 ft. lbs as specified .

Re: What kind of oil consumption can I expect on my V10?

Steve, the following is from my posting on 9/12/12. Steve, you will find many different opinions on the subject of type and viscosity of oil. As for me, I use full synthetic Amsoil Signature series 5W30 in both the V10 and the Onan Generator. Coach now has 101,000+ miles and the generator 1,000+ hou...
