What kind of Bicycle do you carry? Plus where and how?

We travel with 4 mountain bikes hanging from a rear hitch mount Swagman rack. With 4 bikes, the rack is packed. If you plan to carry 2 bikes and want more space between them, Swagman makes a 3 bike model where you could skip the middle space. Because of the way the top plate sandwiches the top tube,...

Radio for 99 RSB BF

We have a 1999 E-450 with the stock radio. The depth clearance is 7" from the back of the dash to the metal piece behind the radio. The dash is about 1" thick, so the total opening depth from the rear metal to the face of the dash is around 8". I bought a Pioneer FH-X700BT radio. To m...

Re: Radio for 99 RSB BF

I'm also surprised by the installer's need to keep the RV overnight. re: Born Free Gas Mileage

Hello Bill, That’s good mileage with a towed. What is your cruising speed? We have a 1999 Born Free 24' RB on the Ford E450 chassis with the 7.3 PowerStroke Diesel engine. Over the last 7,693 miles we've averaged 11.26 mpg. I also correct for the odometer error. This mileage is fully loaded with a...

Re: Using the House Batteries

Whether to hookup in series or parallel is a matter of coach voltage requirements. To supply the coach with 12VDC (stock Born Free voltage), two 6V batteries are wired in series, or two 12V batteries are wired in parallel.

Re: Air compressor

Greetings All, I’m new here (first post) and thought I’d add my approach to air compressor selection. We travel with 4 bikes that need air more often than the coach tires or suspension air bags. We carry with us the Viair 300P Compressor. It is the lowest level compressor on Viair’s upper line...
