Wouldn't a 1999 Ford E450 be the same dashboard as a 1999 Ford F-350? If so, then Crutchfield has a 1999 Ford F-350 in their online tool. It shows both double DIN and single DIN models fitting a Ford F-350, BUT for a double DIN, every one of them is coming up with a warning that says that sub-dash h...

Idea for freeze protection in the shoulder seasons

What do you think of this product in terms of emergency freeze protection if there is a sudden overnight dip in temperatures after you've dewinterized? http://www.amazon.com/Growers-Supply-Company-GSHM-Seedling/dp/B002LVU4Y8/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1365529878&sr=8-12&keywords=warming+pad...

All prior sources that I've read on this topic have suggested that this applies to the van only. If you go to the actual article link that the RV Business story is referencing it seems to say this also. It says "Transit chassis cab and cutaway models join the industry’s broadest lineup of com...

If you decide to take the bus just be very aware of the varying frequency of the bus at various times of the day and night. The KOA office has a schedule. At certain times of night it can be 90 minutes between buses. Don't ask me how I know that! ;)

We went out there last summer. We stayed at the KOA in Grand Island New York. It met our needs and we selected it specifically because of the transportation option it offers to get to the Falls. There is a bus stop at the entrance to the KOA and Bus #40 takes you to within a couple blocks of the Par...

Just to close out this tread with the resolution, I sent that photo to Lifeline Batteries. They said it is evidence of gassing and AGM's should not gas. Turns out they had a small batch of 40 batteries in 2011 with a defective O-ring, which is stage 3 of a 3-stage seal. They caught most of them prio...

White powder on AGM battery terminals

I have two 6V Lifeline AGM batteries in our coach. Our coach has a Xantrex Freedom 458 Series Inverter/Charger as well as a Progressive Dynamics PD4045KA power converter. I am assuming in this configuration that the Xantrex is doing the battery charging, not the PD unit. I store our coach indoors in...

I use Blue Beacon exclusively. Simple tell them that you want a brush wash, no wands, over all decals and that should not be a further issue for you.

I store our indoors in the Iowa winter in an unheated garage. I keep a BatteryMnder on the chassis battery and keep the coach itself plugged in all winter. I go up every 3 weeks and run the generator and generally check everything over. I had the factory change the coach battery to 2-6V AGM's becaus...

No, this would not work. First, the coach chair does not lay flat. Second, when the chair freely turns in place there is still a gap between the chair and the sofa even when the sofa is pulled out. it isn't a huge gap but big enough to get out of bed and walk on the floor, past the chair, to the kit...

In the 22' RSK, when the jack knife is open both chairs on the passenger side are still usable AND the bunk ladder still fits in place. It is a very nicely orchestrated use of space. I often sit in the coach chair, turned toward the TV, with my feet rested on the extended out jack knife.

I can't really add anything else of value in terms of things to look at to evaluate a used coach. I just wanted to say that your family sounds a lot like mine and we are infinitely happy with our decision to buy a Born Free for our family. My kids were 9 and 6 when we bought our first RV - a Class B...

I went up to the storage building today to exercise a generator so I was able to take measurements on the sewer hose pipe that is installed under the RV by Born Free. The diameter is just slightly shy of 4.5" and would accommodate any of the pre attached fittings of any of the houses that I mea...
