It's been quite a few years since I went to college and drove my car & motorcycle in Beantown, but Boston driving was a thrill best left to those who care nothing about the exterior appearance of their vehicles. They do have great public transit that is likely a better choice for a non native. T...

Re: Gas prices

another of my pet peeves is the SCARDOT system of putting up a new stop light whenever some textter or drunk gets killed because they didn't see the approaching traffic, and lets 12-20 cars wait for one vehicle to get onto the road. How much gas is wasted waiting for a light to change ? End of rant...

A friend of mine installed an Espar diesel heater in his 43' sailboat when he lived aboard year round, for making Baltimore winters more tolerable. There wasn't enough electric dockside at his Yacht Club to run the normal boat stuff and electric space heaters too. I believe it cost close to $10k ins...

I tried in vain to upload the pic I described above to this site, but the site would not permit the larger sized photo to load, and I was unable to trim it, so there's my dilemma posting pics on this website. I have no trouble at all on many other forums. FREE download, I have used it for years, wo...

I can understand that one can get dependent on a rear window, however in my coach the rear window is over the bed and I cant see my toad looking back thru the window via my rear view mirror. If you get a stick on fresnel lens for @$10 - $20, you get a fairly good view out the rear window with your ...

Ah-ha!
So that's why the knuckles on my gloves wear so quickly.

Agreed, same for my 6' height, but I do wish the drivers seat could go back another two inches. Surprising that such a big vehicle has less drivers leg room than my little WRX.

Assuming your BF has a similar set up to my 03 RSB, for a few dollars of pink antifreeze, you can winterized the outside shower, then shut off the outside shower hot and cold valves behind the sink, and then flush the pink stuff from the rest of the water system. I'd set the water heater to bypass b...

My previous MH had an accordion door for the head, and the latch to hold it closed broke. I got a Faspin, available from marine parts places. I drilled a hole in the overhead metal guide, and through the wood door, positioned to hold the door closed. Insert the pin from either side. A bit cumbersome...

Whenever I finish a trip with my Born Free and put it back in storage even for a short period of time, I always fill the 55 gallon tank with gas to the top. A tank full of fuel can't rust in my opinion. I agree if its real gasoline . This 10% gasoline alcohol stuff they make us buy has allowed rust...

Assuming the storm has past by you, take your hand and feel the entire interior walls and ceilings for any dampness, including under the couch and inside any storage compartments that open to the exterior. Fortunately the major under couch repair I had done last winter was bone dry this morning, as ...

Your BF is a great asset with a storm like Sandy. With a good supply of fuel, propane, and water in the BF you can weather days of no shore power at the house. You can run an extension cord into the house, keeping the home refrigerator cold and some lights on. Driveway camping!! Or head somewhere sa...

I changed mine to a LED bulb a few years ago, there is only one bulb in my 2003 handle. Perhaps yours is burnt out. It's one of the small push in bulbs like in side marker lights, maybe a 168? I also changed the inside step light that is on the same circuit to the same LED bulb, I can leave them on ...
