Scott, if you haven't done so already, check out rvparkreviews.com for campgrounds. So far I have only disagreed with the reviews once or twice and I try to always consult the website before selectng a campground. It will tell you things not obvious in the directories, like how many permanent reside...

Be extra special careful with a bike on the back of the BF. Maybe it is our length (26') or more likely operator error, but we carry a tandem on the back of our BF and have had to replace a wheel and more recently a crank due to bumping ever so slightly into things like trees and retaining walls wit...

I absolutely detest our Kingdome and it doesn't like me much either. We don't even need trees to be unable to get a signal sometimes! Biggest waste of money in our BF, but since I am the one who wanted it, I am forbidden to get a portable dish. We do really like the newer batwing antenna and found o...

Rob, I am considering the same thing. With 2 longhaired dogs, I vacuum twice a day and it is still never clean. Can a local flooring company do this in the BF or is it a return to the mother ship item? We sure aren't handy enough to do it ourselves.

Renting an RV in AK

We just returned from a trip to visit grandkids in Fairbanks. We drove our BF from MI to AK 2 years ago, flew up last year and stayed in hotels, and this year decided to try renting an RV in Anchorage. The unit was a 2009 25' Tioga with a slide. While we loved the slide and the extra room, the diffe...

We also have stayed at the factory over night for repairs with our 2 dogs. We took a folding x-pen kennel and had the dogs in a waiting room all day since it was February. Everyone was very welcoming, including John Dodgen, and it was not a problem. We also used the loaner car during the day and had...

Are we ever envious! We just returned from a 16 day bike trip in Europe and while biking along the Danube, passed some campgrounds (one outside of Vienna was clothing optional!). The campgrounds and campers are pretty small so we concluded that our 26' would be too big but we are anxious to hear you...

Tom, on our 2004 RSB there is an outlet under our sink near the water pump which is used to add the winterizing solution to the pipes. On our last trip, we had a big leak at this spot because the cap was not on securely. If you have this set up, you might check the cap if you haven't already done so...

Thanks, Bill. I was confident that you would know the answer to my questions!! This forum is a never ending source of valuable information. The various threads on tires probably just saved us from a disaster. We just got 6 new tires while having other work done at the Ford dealer. We told them to re...

I know that this has been discussed before but now I am confused. If you have a digital tv in the Born Free will you be able to receive reception without a converter with a 2 year old winegard antenna? We also have Directv so I know that will work but do we need a converter to use the antenna? I did...

Another leak question

We have developed an odd leak on our 26' RSB. It is under the sofa, concentrated in the middle of the back of the storage area. Sometimes it is wet all of the way from the middle to the wall with the sink. Other times, it is mostly just wet in the middle. Right now it is dry, in spite of the fact th...

We had an Initial LCD/DVD tv installed at the BF factory in our 2004 BF 2 years ago. The DVD player doesn't work any more and the darned tv menu hates to change from antenna to cable, or visa versa. BF doesn't use them any more and I think they can be lemons. We are carrying s seperate DVD player an...

Ron, my husband and I and our 2 18 pound dogs sleep together 75% of the time on the rear side bed. He is about your size, I am 5' 4" and weigh about 115. I will admit that I am the one next to the wall and have to climb over to get out and am smooshed up with the dogs, but most of the time, it ...
