Re: Newbie
Interior Scion Prep. I'm not sure anyone will find this interesting. Traveling about over the last 19 years we found more than half of the trips miles are in the tow vehicle. As well the roads and places the tow vehicle go are generally more out of the way and not as good as those seen by the Born F...

Re: Newbie
I've tried two preparations. I feel they are typically mostly cosmetic. The first by Car Guys. Ch.osen because it had good reviews. I've done the Born Free and the Scion, I was not impressed using them on plastic but they definitely made the rubber look better. Certainly appearance is part of the ga...

Re: Newbie
Getting ready has many aspects. Today I power washed the house, mold grows in FL and the house requires two washings a year, particularly since we'll be gone 8 months. Tomorrow it's our trailer we wash.
As well I installed a center arm rest in the Scion.

Small things. Began with the two mile walk and 2 hours of Pickleball. Ginny was very good today, joining to beat har younger son and husband in separate games. So nice to see the pride and big smile. Added two breakers, now there are 5 (10 circuits). No doubling of circuits on a single breaker funct...

Re: Newbie
Thank you Randall, I'll give it a try somewhere in our travels. I also received a post on a suggested camping place near Deming, NM at Rockhound SP. Thank you. As well we're looking for a spot near Camarillo, CA around Aug. 28th for a couple of days.. A nephew is getting married there. Any suggestio...

Re: Newbie
Weighing our Born Free. This post has two purposes. One to show that it's possible to estimate Born Free weight. Second to expose my thinking to critical judgement by others. I admit the Born Free is not fully loaded but I would say nearly so. The water tank is half full and the grey and black tanks...

The Little Things. We're doing the little things on the Born Free today because we're mainly preparing for the Super Bowl. Normally we have Prime Rib on Super Bowl however for about a month we've been on a life style change, focusing on eating more plant based meals. Change is fun, Installed a doubl...

Re: Newbie
Amazon Purchases. I counted 54 purchases from Amazon. The most expensive was the converter mentioned in the previous post. In addition we made about 4 small purchases from e-trailer. We began by buying the 1993 Born Free 21. Immediately put in in the garage for a checkup and a flushing plus a new ba...

WFCO WF8955PECB Black 55 Amps Power Center Converter Charger - $145 - AMazon Just completed the install and testing of our replacement Converter. It took about 8 hours. Actually very straight forward, just a lot of wires to move. It's an improvement over what I believe was a 26 year old converter, a...

Re: EeZ Tire Monitor System
We use tire pressure monitoring, particular on our towed vehicle or trailer. The most valuable data is rate of change data and not alarms. To me an alarm generally means a blow out, lack of attention to tire pressure. Tires can take relatively hire temperatures. In AZ in the summer tires could start...

Re: Newbie
Just bought a new Converter. Simply tired of the hum from the old one and the fact it occasionally over heats and cuts outs. I'm sure there is a fan in there however it has not run in the last 10 weeks.

Re: Remodel BF Mini
We bought a 1993 Born Free 21 Presidential, about 10 weeks ago. It does not seem to have any structural issues. As far as we've determined the floor is solid. We have worked to fix every issue we find and add functionality we appreciate in an RV. We have not made any decision based upon the next own...

Re: Newbie
Now in our 19th year of retirement and travel. Ginny and I were talking about the benefits of our traveling retirement. Of course we've been all over, seen wonderful places at a truly relaxing pace, but the real benefits are the unplanned for results. We were 58 when we bought our first RV, and bega...
