I don't know anything about GPS base plates, but how about Velcro? I use it to mount my cell phone on the front of the dash and for several other purposes. Works for me.

It may only take an hour, but in my case I'll have to drive 45 minutes to the dealer and 45 minutes home. Plus, I'll have to take the cover off the top of the BF and replace it when I return, about an hour job combined. I went in for the original recall and had to talk the service manager into figur...

I agree, you really don't need a "bra" for your BF. We drove all over Alaska in 2004 and had no damage. Even drove the "haul road" that goes to the north shore. It is gravel and we met a lot of 18 wheelers. All we did was slow down when we met one and they, courtestly slowed down...

I submitted my application for the coupons to offset the cost of a digital converter. When I receive them I'll install one in my BF to see how it works, From reading info on the government website some converters will also pass through an analog signal. I'll get one of those if they are not too expe...

Thanks for all the replies. I like Bogie's safety harness. It appears that many of you are doing the same as we do. Letting the dogs find a place on their own and hoping and praying you are not involved in an accident. I think traveling in a motorhome makes one complacent about safety. For us, for i...

Traveling with dogs

I know that many of you travel with your dogs. Do you restrain them? If so how do you do it? At one point in our travels we attached the dogs collars to the seat belts on the couch. That worked somewhat, but they tended to get the belts tangled. We now do not restrain them, but we know this is not a...

Another update on the tiny pinhead size stains on top of my BF. I tried muriatic acid today. Sort of desperate I guess. First used a mixture of half acid and half water and got poor results. Then tried full strength. Put on rubber gloves and poured the acid in an old 409 spray bottle. I learned thro...

Well, from looking at photos of "Artillery Fungus" on several web sites it appears that is what I have on the top of my BF. They are about the size of a pin head, brown and raised. I am a loss to say where they could have come from, as I do not have any mulch around my home, but the guy ne...

An update: I tried turpentine - no luck. I tried, on the off chance they might work, dryer sheets -- no luck here either. I appeal to anyone reading this post to respond with more suggestions! The stains are slightly larger than the head of a pin, brown and raised above the surface of the roof. They...

As I recall, it is virtually impossible to change both sparkplugs on the Onan unless the generator is dropped from its mounting brackets. The Onan Emerald may be a different generator than mine, but when I had service at the suggested interval (400? hours I think) the Onan dealer changed the plugs, ...

Someone mentioned in an earlier post that mounting brackets could be worn which would cause more vibration. Is there a cushioning portion of the mounting bracket that could be damaged, or due to age split, cracked etc.?

I have a '97 CRV (first production year sold in the US) purchased new. A year or two later I received correspondence that indicated there had been a class action suit regarding transmission damage to CRV's that were towed. Evidently the settlement involved Honda either paying for or re-imbursing own...

Removing tiny pine tree stains from the roof of a BF

Here is a first for me. I have to park our BF outside below many southern slash pine trees. I've had tree sap on the top and have removed it with gasoline, the only thing that seemed to work. Over the past several months I was hospitalized for by-pass surgery and recovery. During this time very tiny...

I have one of those 7 ft collapsible step ladders. I've used it once or twice and find it very unsteady. How about a box of replacement light bulbs for interior and exterior. When you need one you never seem to have the correct bulb so you stop and buy what you need. And of course, out of date maps ...

I call mine an expensive hobby. For 2007: $5,800 in payments on the loan, $3,200 in maintenance and equipment and around $3,300 in travel related expenses -- gasoline, camping, etc. Not included in travel related expenses are costs we would have incurred if we had stayed home such as food, household...
