Winter Storage

I'm preparing for my first winter with my Born Free. I have found an indoor spot in a Morton building that stores other RV's and boats. I will be storing it from November through March. Other than winterizing the water system what other details are recommended. Thanks everyone.

Re: Holding tank odor

I've been using the Walex bio pack. Use after emptying the tank and when the tank is 1/2 full. Yeah it's tough to not let the kids use the toilet when nature calls and we are crusing down the road.

Holding tank odor

I have had the wonderful black tank odor in my coach while traveling down the road with a partially filled tank and having someone use the toilet. Is my holding tank vent working properly? Would a replacement vent cap be of any help?

Thanks

Mirrors

Could someone please tell me are the side mirrors on the BF an OEM part to the Ford chassis or after market put on by Born Free? Just curious on getting replacement parts. Has anyone had trouble with paint peeling off of the arms of the mirrors?

Thanks

Re: cleaning drapes

I just finished having all the curtains dry cleaned. It wasn't cheap but they look great and are wrinkle free.

Re: Cab over conversion

Thanks Mel. I contacted Kim. Yes it can be done at a cost of about $3500. I'm wondering if any members have done this and what they thought of the process.

Cab over conversion

Has anyone ever had the factory do a conversion from cab over entertainment to the cab over bed?

Re: How to carry lawn chairs?

I can't comment on the carrying of chairs yet since I'm still in search of my BF, but I can endorse the Strong Back brand folding chairs and some of the most comfortable I've camped with.

26 RSB Viewing

Wondering if there anyone close to Des Moines Iowa that would let me see there 26 RSB. I've only been in 24 RB models and it's tough to decide between the two models when shopping (online) for used coaches without being in one.

Thank you kindly

Mark

Inspection

I'm looking to have an inspection prior to purchasing a used Born Free. Any advice on a place in the Des Moines Iowa area that would inspect both the Ford chassis and the RV components?

Thanks

I visited the BF factory and was able to see the trundle bed in a 25ft Slide. The best I can describe it is a large split couch where the lower section comes out like a foot rest and then can be reclined. It was a powered bed. It also lays completely flat for a very large bed. It is larger than the ...
