I am considering having a Banks Power Pack added to our Born Free. It will include the headers, oversize pipe and muffler. If anyone in this forum has had this done, could you let me know if there was in increase in the amount of exhaust noise?
Thanks,

Re: How do you store your Born Free when not in use?
Inside. Our first Born Free was stored outside in an RV Storage facility here in Chico. Summertime temperatures exceeding 100 degrees are not unusual in Chico but I was under the impression that with a good covering of polish, the gelcoat would not suffer. Oops! After 2 and half years, the luster wa...

Re: Tire pressure
My wife and I have a 2007 24RB and have run 65lbs in the front and 70lbs in the rear duals since we took delivery 7 years ago. The tires are now 7 years old and showing little or no wear. I had them inspected at a tire shop this year as 7 years is a bit long for a set of tires but the shop could fin...

Re: Insurance
I found a certain amount of humor in reading the insurance quotes from the Midwest. My only comment is to appreciate the fact that you live where you do and that you are not trying to insure a Born Free in California. Or any RV for that matter. With 38 million people in the State and many with no li...

stevek We were also interested. Liked the porta-bote, but found them to be very heavy, and cumbersome to set up and take down. Talked to a couple who had one for their Class C and they said the same thing and that they would not do it again. We tow a small sedan on which we carry our tandem sit-upon...

Dallas We had a 2004 BFT and now have a 2007 24RB; both with the extended rear bumper. Neither of the compartments in the bumper are waterproof so I have enlarged the two drain holes and put in two more. That said, in one I carry the sewage fitting that screws into the campground outlet. In the othe...

Microwave/Convection Oven
We have a 2007 RB. The microwave/convection oven has no outside vent so its efficiency is on a par with our current congress. Has anyone considered venting said appliance to the outside and if so, what were the results? I know this subject has appeared before with folks using the bathroom vent fan o...

Northern California BF Sighting
My wife and I were northbound I-5 in the Red Bluff, CA area yesterday and saw a Born Free BFT towing a silver Jeep southbound. To see a Born Free in Northern California is always a rarity so if whoever was in that Born Free reads this, it is simply a Hello. It is always nice to see another Born Free.

Quiet Here
For those who find the 90's uncomfortable, may I suggest avoiding Northern California. The forecast for Redding on Sunday is 113. Here in Chico we are looking at only 105.

mirror
One thing to keep in mind when shopping for a replacement mirror is the length of the support arm. We discovered thart little fact when we had to replace the left mirror in our 2004 BFT. The mirror that was sent to was for a 24 to 26 Born Free and the support arm was too long for the BFT.

Charles My son and I were at a Home Depot store the other day and I saw a quite compact air compressor, 110 volt that I believe advertised up to 150lbs or better. I have an air compressor in our coach so do not need another, but this looked interesting so I took a second look. Anyway, should you hav...

Steve We tow a Toyota Corolla with manual transmission. Very light, approx 900+# less than a Honda CRV which we used to tow. Hook it up, put the key to accessory, the transmission in neutral and you are set to go. Unlike the smart car, it gives us seating for four should we wish, and a platform for ...

Bill We store our 24RB indoors at an RV storage site here in town. The facility has an air compressor so prior to taking the coach out for its drive once a month, I check the tire pressure and battery levels. When the coach is in storage the battery switch is turned to off (I do not use a trickle ch...
