Re: Installing PD4655 Question
Hey folks, I know this is an older post... but seems more related to my questions. I have reviewed several post on replacing the Charger/Converter. I need to replace my batteries because one burned up in the fall and based on what I have learned here.. I am thinking I should replace the Charger/Conv...

Re: Black streaks
Hey folks, For what is it worth, I have had success using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove all sorts of stubborn marks on my Born Free. I bought my current BF used in April 2018 and the Magic Eraser removed things that looked a lot like scratches and I never thought would come off. Afterwards you ...

Re: Awing Replacement Question
Ben, This is helpful! I also called Factory RV Surplus (and emailed them some images) so they are looking for me as well. Is this the front bracket you are using now (901019W)? I thought about upgrading to these "if" I can fix the arm. Bottom Bracket = https://www.amazon.com/Carefree-90101...

Re: Awing Replacement Question
Hey Ben, Thank you, I am going to try to contact Factory RV Surplus tomorrow. The part, or "parts" I need is the rear arm. The plastic housing at the top broke and the part that attaches at the top bracket looks broken. Here are a few images. If you have any part numbers on the arm that wo...

Awing Replacement Question
Hi folks, I have a 2003 24RB. We had an unfortunate incident with our awing... the rear arm was damaged - caught on something while someone else was driving :-) I am working with insurance, but the issue I am having is finding a replacement awing or parts. We have a Carefree of Colorado E-Z 12v elec...

Re: Tire valve stem failures
Hi folks, I did a a bit more internet digging and found this: http://yourtireshopsupply.com/product/275/dl1ec-chrome-duallyvalve-dl1ec Borg Equipment & Supply Co. --- (818) -352-3017 Looks like a link to what folks are talking about. What about best aftermarket TPMS? Any one have EEZTire by EEZT...

Re: Tire valve stem failures
Hey folks, I notice some of the posts here a few years old and the links are not working well. I have tire valve steam issues. Ford dealership installed junk flexible valve stem extenders on rear inner tires (2003 BF 24RB) and it shredded both rubber valve steams resulting in flats. I want to change...

Re: Leak fixed, new leak, and misfire
Hi, I believe the water in my BF was coming from the little square gap located right where the long top rail meets the front vertical rail. See the image below. I think the water travels along the rails.. sometimes if there is a weak point it will enter. The blue arrows show were I think (note "...

Re: Recommended tire pressure
Thank you, This PDF guide is very helpful and makes it a lot more clear what the PSI's are posted as they are. I think one of the earlier posts had a PDF link but it was a dead link. The 65 and 80 are close to the range of the base GAWR for each axel, so I understand now where those recommendations ...

Re: Recommended tire pressure
Hey folks, I also had a question on tire pressure for our 2003 24RB. The BF manual reads "FT 60 PSI and Rear 65 PSI" But the Fuel door has a picture that reads " 65 PSI for the front and 80 PSI for the Rear". Also, on the inside door of the driver side there is sticker from Born ...

Re: Help - Blowing Fuses for Frig
Thanks Bill, You are most correct. In case this helps others - the Converter Charger I have - Model 7345 has a 20 AMP fuse max. Never ones might have higher max - but my 2003 24RB doesn't. So I can not just add 10 AWG wire and a 30 AMP fuse. I will need to wire differently. There is another small fu...

Re: Help - Blowing Fuses for Frig
Well I think I solved my problem (with a little help from a friend). I checked the installation manual for the frig... I hadn't looked before because this frig was considered a direct replacement, so I assumed everything would be ok for it. The install manual calls for 10 gauge wire (not the 16 gaug...

Help - Blowing Fuses for Frig
Hey folks, I have a 2003 24RB. We had a 2-way N641 Norcold refrigerator. We upgraded to a brand new Norcold NA7LX.3R - we bought a 3-way refrigerator. We had a 3-way in our old 2001 24RB. I keep blowing the 5 amp Fuse for the frig. I think it is related to DC mode. I called Norcold and they said the...

Re: Suggestions for Seam Repair - Leaks
Yes, I have seen the the 5200, but I was a little concerned about it being too good at bonding. For many areas I assumed things are going to flex and having something that can move with joint would be best. I am using Pro Flex by Geocel https://www.geocelusa.com/product/pro-flex-rv-flexible-sealant/...

Re: Suggestions for Seam Repair - Leaks
Thanks Russ, I think you should fix your coach. Our first Born Free was a spotless 2001 24RB, with leveling system, solar, etc. Really well maintained.. but even that had some issue. We bought it in April of 2016. We took our two kids, ages 9 and 11 at the time on a 5 week cross country road trip. 1...
