Re: So, what the worst road you have had your Born Free on?

Two trips to Alaska: 2009 & 2013 the worst road was between Chicken and the Yukon border. Canada keeps their longer section between the Yukon border and Dawson City in decent shape, not sure why the U.S. portion is so bad.

Re: ALASKA-My Thoughts

Following are some random thoughts on visiting Alaska... If time permits spend some time in the Canadian Rockies. Rich Rich, a nice list of info! I second your comment about including the Canadian Rockies. Been up to Alaska twice. Still my favorite trip. A few thoughts I would add: Guides: the Mile...

Re: Interior lights not working

While I don't have a 2014 rig nor a lighted light control panel, in other situations generally the power to the switches is also the power that lights the switches or panel. So if you have power to the panel but not the lights, it would imply you're not getting the power to the switches i.e. a commo...

Re: Hard Wired Surge Protector

We had a Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C installed in our coach. It was located under the bathroom sink, hardwired to the back of the input plug and mounted to the sidewall. The display unit was mounted under the sink lip next to the water heater switch. The downside of this location is that it doe...

Re: Fuel guage question

There are similar thoughts of not getting gas when a fuel truck is present and filling the tanks as this may be stirring up tank bottom gunk.

As a side note, once saw a station attendant taking a stick reading of a tank in the pouring rain. I didn't go back to that station for a while.

Re: Excessive rattling and squeaking

We also add a towel wedge to the pull up table and a towel beneath the micro plate before traveling..a standard part of our "get ready to go" routine. Stick on felt pads (which you can cut to size) are used in a few places, but mostly for us on items we have added that tend to bounce a bit...

Re: 26 Rear bed - Garbage?

We keep one small garbage can behind the passenger's seat, while traveling, and moved between the seats while stopped. A very small garbage can between the toilet and the wall. These two are lined with plastic store bags. We have an expandable kitchen bag size garbage can (the round type that collap...

I use the Blue Beacon Truck Washes as they are easy to use. The procedure is to just pull into the line and wait your turn and they will direct you in. Once you are parked and ready to be washed you can walk into the office and pay for the wash. One bit of advice is I generally don't stop if there i...

For fantastic vent:

1st time leak: tightened screws from inside

2nd time leak: touched up outside caulking

3rd time leaK: used eternabond tape.

Haven't had a 4th time leak as yet.

I would suggest skipping step 1 & 2 and going straight to 3.

As an added measure of safety, I keep velcro straps near the top of each leg of the awning.

As far as water and cooking go, we tried to boil water for pasta inside and it took an hour to heat up to almost boiling. That is why we elected to use the old coleman stove. The flame on the stove, as you probably know, should (ideally) be completely blue or (less than ideally, as for my RV) mostl...

With some water in the toilet, drop a small drop of food coloring into the water. It will often reveal where there water is draining from. Then you can concentrate your cleaning to that spot. Also, if cleaning attempts fail, I got it to stop for one summer by applying plumbers grease to the leak spot.

Thanks Jo
It was one several years ago off of Ebay so I can't pinpoint it easily at this time. It was very similar to the one listed above but without the multiplexer.
