Re: No power to outlets when connected to shore power

It's in the same place on my 550 Triumph. Looks like a black football. But I don't think it has any replaceable components. I think you may have a transfer switch problem; or a problem at your main inverter switch. JIC, did you try to start your connection from an all OFF status. As follows: 1) Swit...

Re: No power to outlets when connected to shore power

See my later posts on similar electrical questions. I had exactly the same aha moment, thinking my gfi had failed. It was because I had the inverter master switched off while on shore power. Some of my circuits (probably like yours) are wired to run through the inverter and it has to be ON for those...

Re: Two Electrical 120v service questions?

In answer to my own question: This is the definition of the Zamp display readings on the Zamp web site: All Zamp Solar charge controllers (except for our 8-Amp charge controller) have a large digital display that shows you the following information: Charging Voltage: The voltage going from the solar...

Re: Two Electrical 120v service questions?
At the risk of telling you something you already know, it is possible that you are looking at the 120V input current to the Outback. Ohms law applies here: the formula is P (power)=I (current) times E (voltage). A load that draws 8 Amps at 120 Volts when run thru a 100% ef...

Re: Two Electrical 120v service questions?

Some additional elements thanks to your answer: I had also never switched off the Inverter at its master switch and the 12v cut off until this month in order to try a charger that desulphated as it charged rather than the the one-time, time limited capability of the Outback. When I switched everythi...

Two Electrical 120v service questions?

A) The owners manual for the post 2014 coaches says this with respect to the Inverter Control: "For models with an “Outback” Inverter/Charger, the control panel is located near the entrance door. To disconnect the inverter from the batteries use the inverter battery disconnect (Figure 3.6) loca...
Wow great story Tom, did you go back and least get a piece of pie with your tire savings?! I will need assistance no matter what happens since I can't even lift one of those truck tires. I can roll it but not lift it!
You do not need to lift it to change it? Roll t...

Speed vs tires

I try to keep it at 65 on the GPS but with average speeds in TX pushing into the 90s in places, 65 is a moving chicane and about as dangerous.

Re: no spare tire

IMO traveling without a spare is an invitation to a series of problems besides the direct implications of the blow or the flat. Our roads are not getting better; speeds are increasing even though we try to manage them in our poorly engineered (speed-wise) rigs; extreme either conditions of hot and c...

Re: How to secure water service panel?

That makes so much sense but mine hs tone completely open or lies loose on top of the hose as it exits the cavity.

Thanks for the insight.

How to secure water service panel?

When the hose/cableTV connections are made, our BF access panel has to remain unlocked. Besides the security issue, night time wind gusts cause mine to flap which adjacent to the slide out can make for a disturbed night. I have tried securing the inside lock to the hose using a small shock cord and ...

HWH repair effected

So banging on the valve and the manifold block worked...once. Next time I tried to retract the jacks, there was no response from touch pad. I tried another banging exercise to no avail and so proceeded to Plan B. Changed the shuttle valve by using a right angle phillips driver to remove the screws h...

Re: Request for guidance on repairs

Thanks, thats what I have been doing. But I have to do it every time I need to lower the jacks. Whereas banging on the manifold usually frees up the valve for 4 or 5 cycles.

Re: Request for guidance on repairs

It does look like an i/o board housed in a grey metallic box and mounted to the top of plastic posts with Phillips screws. when I spoke to the receptionist at HWH to get on their list (Kristal) told me that this could be dismounted to get to the shuttle valve. But as i wrote, this will be very chall...
