I also run 55 psi, or as close as I can ascertain such, in the air bags on our '04 26RB. Maybe it's that I am experiencing an age-related slowing of reflexes, but, when I'm checking the pressure in the bags, I can't seem to get the pressure gage off the valve stem before I lose 10-15 lbs of pressure...

The trim rings can be very tight. Here are a couple of pix showing a trim ring removed and the base to which it attaches. Note the indentions on the base into which the protrusions on the trim ring fit. A small clockwise turn snugs the ring up against the ceiling.

On our '04 26RB, the white trim rings rotate counter-clockwise about 20 degrees to loosen and come free. The lens remains with the trim ring.

Not to worry. Turning the house battery switch to OFF just de-activated the DC circuits (assuming you weren't using shore power to supply power to the converter). All DC circuits will be restored, including the automatic functions to the reefer, heater and water heater, when you return the house bat...

My wife and I have been discussing this same conundrum for about a year now. Still haven't come up with the answer as yet though we may be leaning towards a toad. That could be because I am lusting over a 4-door Wrangler and this just might be my excuse to obtain one :D We made made our living trave...

FWIW we have good friends who have been full-timing since late 2001. They have two Yorkies and a 12 lb. cat. The cat still has all its claws and, though, like you, she has expressed some concern about their ultra-leather furniture, they haven't had any problems to date. I wouldn't be too concerned s...

John, I see that you are an old-hand at RVing so please accept this suggestion with the proverbial grain of salt and understand it comes, with the best of intentions, from a neophyte in the field. In a previous life I was what Neal Boortz ( http://boortz.com/ ) has respectfully labeled a heavy equip...

For Garmin products go to www.garmin.com and Search: antenna. That will lead you to all Garmin products that will accept a remote antenna. Charlotte, I also use the Garmin 2620. I imagine that you keep your 2620 up-to-date but, FWIW, the Garmin WebUpdater software version, as of 10 Aug 2006, is v. 2...

Hey Barbara & Ken, Actually we put Shackle up there to keep him from attacking the vacuum cleaner when we use the loud monster. However, he has been nicknamed Spinaker Ears by some friends of ours and, given a proper launch, I suspect he could fly around a la Dumbo and the "magic feather&qu...

After a couple of short shake-down cruises between FL and AL, we used Mr. Dodgen’s 80th birthday celebration in Humboldt, IA as our first, extended trip aboard our Born Free. The recent death of our son-in-law made planning a little difficult since we were spending a lot of time with our daughter,...

No problem with the questions, Trisha. Nori is my wife’s nickname and I’m Jake. Our Born Free is titled as a 2004 but the VIN indicates a 2003 chassis. The unit was built in mid-2003 and delivered to the original owner in July 2003. We found it for sale on this BB, drove over to the other side o...

Trisha, I see that you may have already decided to go with mounting your CB/Wx band antenna on the side of your fender. In case you might want another option to consider, here is a pic of how ours is mounted. The antenna is made by Evehardt – here is their ad hype: “ Marvel Communications Compan...

Our coach came with a CB antenna installed on the driver's side of the cabover. The coach is at our storage facility now but we plan to bring it here tomorrow or the next day depending upon when I finish repositioning a few water sprinkler heads. I'll try to get a couple of pix for you to use as ano...

FWIW, standard operating procedure for all the gensets I've owned as well as the gensets owned by friends who were fellow boatowners indicated that you should never operate a genset under a no-load condition. The recommendation was to keep the load at or above 80%. For that reason and the attending ...
