Had an intermittent problem with our microwave, and finally isolated it to the the door switch. With the door open and power OFF, I used a popsicle stick to lightly "exercise" the switch several times. Viola - problem solved. The problem did reoccur once, but a second treatment with the po...

Do you mean the breaker on the post at the RV park, or a breaker internal to the BF? Have you been running other electrical loads at the same time as the A/C? Such as the microwave, water heater, and/or the refrigerator? If so, you may be right at or exceeding the 30 Amp capacity. Here are a couple ...

We have Virgil Dutton's new spare carrier on our rear door BFT, and it works fine. Mounts the same as in in Dallas Ballio's pictures. No problem with the rear door, and the swivel allows ready access to the water heater. Great design!

Here is an example of a wood floor retrofit to a Chinook (no longer made, but very similar to a BFT). http://www.tosimplify.net/2011/10/floored.html There are several prior posts showing the progression with the project. There are a bunch of other mods that may be of interest to BF owners too. Glenn...

We joined at the Good Sam rally in Phoenix. Met the founders - very nice people. We haven't used it yet, but look forward to doing so this summer.

We'll be there in our "new to us" BFT. Since we live in Mesa, AZ, the trip will be a short one. Also glad to hear Born Free will be there, and looking forward to our first Good Sam rally.

Reminds me of the story of three engineers in a car that stalled. -The electrical engineer said, "It must be the battery or the plugs..." -The mechanical engineer said, "It must be the engine...: -The software engineer said, "Turn off the key, and then we'll all get out of the ca...

Generator Question

We recently purchased a used 2006 BFT. It suddenly developed a gasoline leak at the generator. The leak appears to be at a fuel shutoff valve in the gas line at the input to the generator. -Quick question #1 - Is this standard, or was this an add-on? -Quick question #2 - If standard, is there a part...
