new tires

Mel, can you say a bit more about your parabolic springs? Have had them for long? Are they the ones from MorRyde or something else? I'd like to put some on my '02 24RB but don't trust the local spring shop to do the job right from parts in their bin, so any info you can provide about brand and price...

Crooked rear bumber

The rear bumper on my 2002 24RB has one side a little lower than the other. It has been this way since I bought it new at the factory, though I didn't notice it till the next morning when I was about 500 miles from there. I'm going to have some other work done at the factory this spring and mentione...

Spongey Brakes

It turns out the problem with the spongy pedal feel was probably caused by pad(s) being slightly out of position. During servicing the mechanic had noticed that the front pads were frozen and one of the rear pads was hanging up a bit, so he cleaned and lubed all pad slides. When he put it all back t...

Spongey Brakes

I just had my 2002 24rb E450 in to the local Ford dealer for 45,000 mile service and noticed when I drove it home that the brake pedal now feels spongey. (It has always felt firm before.) As part of the servicing I had them lubicate the brake sliders, and they told me they also had to free up the pa...

The sealant is called Sikaflex-252, made by Sika Corp., 30800 Stephenson Hwy., Madison Heights, MI 48071. It's an EXTREMELY strong adhesive. I've never seen it in any store.

I'm afraid I don't have any pictures. Everything I've used can be seen in a Yakima catalogue or at a local dealer, though, except for the foam pieces, which my dealer apparently gets from another source. They are black and appear to be made of fairly dense, closed-cell eurethane. They're a little ov...

We've used a combination of Yakima roof rack components to carry a kayak on the roof of our 24' RB, and I would guess you could probably do something similar. At the back, we connected a Yakima crossbar to the existing railings on our BF using adapters from Yakima. At the front, we installed a pair ...

Hinges

I recently came up with an idea for a fix for the breaking rivets in the overhead cabinet door hinges that I think may be easier than using little bolts. I've used one-eighth inch diameter steel rivets with one eighth inch long grip length. Installed them using a hand operated pop rivet tool from th...
