2021 Caravan Through Alaska & Western Canada

This 60-Day Alaska Adventure Trek Caravan was planned as a “Club-only” event for 2020. However, when only a few club members registered, the provider Adventure Treks changed and allowed others to register to help fill up the caravan and meet minimum capacity requirements. Then it was postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Now it has been rescheduled for 2021. But with carryover registrations from 2020, it has now reached its maximum capacity and a Waiting List has been started. However, it is not unusual for some registered folks to cancel due to unforeseen problems creating openings.

If you are interested in going on the caravan the following is suggested:
Get on the Waiting List by contacting Contact David Baxley (see contact information for David Baxley below)
Since the below information is for 2020, you probably want to determine what changes have been made to this event for 2021 by asking David Baxley or going to this 60 Day Alaska Caravan Tour Itinerary link:
Additionally, there may be other caravans on his website you may be interested in.

Note: Adventure Treks is a small caravan company that has been around since 2001. Several of our members have attended their caravans in the past and given t4him high marks.

The following is the original 2020 Posting for a Club-Only Caravan which has now been carried over to 2021 but is no longer a club-only event and includes others .

This adventure is a once-in-a-lifetime, fully planned (with a lot of free time), 60-Day, 4800-mile caravan with over 90 fun-filled, interesting, entertaining, and educational activities. You will be immersed in the scenery, wildlife, history, and culture of Alaska, the Yukon, and British Columbia. You will remember it forever!

It starts at Dawson Creek, British Columbia where you will head north up the incredibly scenic Alaska Highway and beyond through British Columbia and the Yukon. Then you will loop through Alaska, go over the panoramic Top of the World Highway through the Yukon and ends at Prince George, British Columbia. Along this route, there will be many interesting and unique villages, towns, cities, and sites all as shown on the Route Map and Itinerary.

As you travel through this vast land in your RV, or on one of your scheduled tour boats, buses, trains or trolleys; you will experience the stunning natural beauty of lush meadows and marshes, dense forests, winding rivers, enormous snow-capped mountains, massive slow-moving glaciers, and pristine lakes. You will also visit many fine museums and historic quaint towns with their vintage stores and charming shops.

Additionally, you will see the amazing land, marine, and airborne wildlife that inhabit this last frontier. There will be free-roaming bears (grizzly and black), wood bison, caribou, bald eagles, falcons, geese, foxes, mountain goats, harbor seals, moose, puffins, stone sheep, sea lions, sea otters, whales (humpback and killer), wolves and a whole lot more.

Along the way you will develop great friendships, enjoy good meals together, relax at Liard Hot Springs, cross the Continental Divide, visit the historic Sign Post Village, visit a winery, view an authentic sled dog team demonstration, enjoy wildlife spotting/glacier viewing boat cruises, take a cruise on the Chena River, walk through a Native Village, view the Alyeska Pipeline, pan for gold, drive on the picturesque Top of the World Highway, ferry your RV across the Yukon River, visit Dawson City (epicenter of the gold rush in 1898), enjoy train excursions, attend several period oriented hilarious stage shows and so much more. There are over 90 organized events including 5 dinners, cruises on Prince William Sound, the Yukon River and the Kenai Fjords National Park, an all-day bus tour into Denali National Park, and a breathtaking train ride on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway.

Just to mention one of the amazing activities: The train ride on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway will take you from Whitehorse to Skagway over the summit of White Pass a 2,865-foot elevation! This fully narrated tour features 2 tunnels, sky-high tressels, cascading waterfalls, historic sites, and spectacular scenery. You will ride in comfortable restored and replica coaches pulled by vintage locomotives This train ride is expressed by some as the best train ride in the world.

This caravan will be a great chance to fulfill your bucket list item of seeing the magnificence and wonder of wild Alaska and the rugged western Canadian landscape. You will not be disappointed!

Cost: $9,095 per couple in one RV, $8,095 per single person in one RV, $3,895 per extra person. A recent search of other providers of such trips indicates Adventure Treks offers more personalized service and more favorable pricing.

All money paid will be refunded if 60 days cancellation notice is given prior to departure.
