2008 Brooksville, FL FMCA Rally
February 5 - 10, 2008
Hosts: Logan and Andie Mathis

Seventeen coaches joined us for the 2008 FMCA rally in Brooksville, Florida.
Many thanks to Max Van Kirk for again parking us in a prime location.

Schedule commitments did not allow Born Free personnel from Clermont to join us and supply the main entry for our Tuesday evening meal as they have done in the past. We ordered barbecue from Pit Boss Barbecue in Spring Hill, FL, about 11 miles from the rally location. It was well worth going for and we will use them in the future if the need arises.

Born Free (Clermont) did supply us some jackets, shirts, hats, etc. for a drawing at the evening meal. Everyone was pleased with what they sent us and we are always grateful for what they do for the club.

Winnie Opal was down from Nashville, TN to make a special appearance and present the second annual Mel Wilbur Award to Bob Scott. Bob was chosen for the award at the National Rally in Nashville but it was not presented due to time constraints.

This award is presented annually to the owner who has shown the most innovation in modifying his coach for personal requirements with unique and enhancing changes and still able to call it a Born Free.

We do not charge a fee to attend this rally since FMCA registration covers entertainment, seminars, morning coffee, juice and donuts, and all the other activities for the event. There is also a full compliment of vendors on hand to meet all your motorhome related needs and a lot of things you may not need.

Facilities to replenish your water supply and a dump station are available on site and provide easy access for these necessities if you stay for the whole period.

The 2009 Brooksville rally will be Tuesday, February 3rd thru Sunday, February 8th, 2009. There is plenty of free time to enjoy the company of old friends and to make new ones. Join us for this annual event in sunny Florida.
