2017 California Central Coast Rally, Buellton/Solvang Recap

Post by bfadmin »

Phyllis and Jim put on another delightful rally, this time in Buellton, Ca.  Despite the record breaking heat, everyone enjoyed the small rally at the Flying Flags RV Resort.  We had our own kitchen equipped meeting room plus the use of a swimming pool, exercise equipment, beautiful fire pits with comfortable seating and well lit bocce ball courts with excellent instructors, Rich and Wendy Schwerin.

In the Buellton/Solvang area there are many interesting Scandinavian shops, bakeries and restaurants plus wine tastings, many within walking distance. There was some need for motorhome servicing and many helpful suggestions were exchanged at our gatherings.  We had dinner at the famous Pea Soup Andersen's restaurant and morning treats from the Danish bakeries.

We were able to visit La Purisima Mission which was reconstructed in accordance with its original design.

Phyllis and Jim did a great job planning and emceeing this event among the rolling hills and numerous vineyards that surround this area.  We will look forward to the next event in May of 2018.
