 Post subject: Bread Dumplings

Bread Dumplings

1-1/4 cups sifted flour
1 teasp. Salt
1 teasp. Baking powder
Cube 1 slice of bread (Sweet French bread is good)
1 egg
¼ cup milk

Sift flour, salt & baking powder. Add bread.
Beat egg & milk – Combine with flour/bread mixture.
(With your hands) form a roll (like a long loaf of French bread) & drop into the boiling water.

Cook covered 15 minutes per side.
Don’t remove lid except to turn dumpling.

When done, remove from water & place on plate.
Slice like bread slices.

Serve with any kind of gravy….
