moving furnace

I just bought a 93 with rear bathroom and twin beds. I want to convert one of the beds into bookshelves and a little desk. Under the drivers side bed is the shore power cord in a little box, a small box that seems to be where the opening for that gas tank is, and the circuit breaker box with converter. On the Passenger side bed there is the furnace. It seems that there should be enough room to move the furnace to the driver side. This will open up all the space from the floor to the roof where I can build shelves. Does anybody have any suggestions.

Steve, don't have any suggestions wrt moving the furnace across the coach. I am intrigued, though, with your vision and willingness to take on difficult projects. Obviously, you are handy with tools and like that sort of work. Good luck and please be sure to post pictures as you complete your projects.

Doesn't the furnace require an outside vent? That would mean cutting through the wall at the new location.

What would a bookcase full of text books due to the weight on that corner of the chassis? When I went to school textbooks were heavy, and there wasn't as much to learn as there is now

I don't mean to sound negative on your ideas, but I think the coaches are designed and built to kind of even out the weight distribution. I would try and figure out what the bookcase would weigh, and the weight of the actual books you would be carrying. It would be nice to be able to weigh the chassis as it is, preferably at each corner. Then add on your estimated book weight and make sure you are not overloading an axle.

Just my humble opinion.
