No aux battery charging from generator or land-line

Post by John&Madonna Hoecker »

I noticed that my coach/aux batteries weren't being charged while on landline--"charging" light on panel monitor did not light up.

Fired up generator and saw no change--still no charge to batteries--no "charging" light on panel monitor.

When I fired up the engine, charging started.

This leads me to believe that the 3 amp converter from the 45 amp DC converter is not functioning.

Any further tests or diagnostics to try here?

Thanks! John Hoecker

You have an issue with the electric on the water heater and now the charger. Have you checked to see if your gfi is blown and also see if you are getting ac power anywhere else...

No a/c charging to aux batteries

I do have internal ac power--microwave turns on, and I can power a portable fan from the outlet at the wash basin.

Thanks for the suggestion--will poke around some more! John

Premier RV in Marshall, Va., diagnosed a failed Parallax Converter.

Mike has replaced the Converter, and I'm back in business

John, did you take the opportune step of replacing the Parallax converter with one that has a smart charger (3 or 4-stage)?
