We bought our pre-owned Born Free from the factory, where new tires and batteries were installed. No problems at all.
We are in the process of buying a 2005 Born Free, 22k miles, from a private owner.
We read that tires should be checked periodically and replaced every 5-6 years.
Mileage, age, tread wear are important, as are the side walls, which can be difficult to inspect.
Cost aside, should we replace the tires?
Experience/comments, anyone?

Yes, if the current tires on the 2005 Born Free coach are original, I would recommend replacing with new even though they only have 22K miles on them. A blown tire due to age where the steel belt is thrown can cause many thousands of dollars damage to the coach body work, dump tanks and/or LP tank and plumbing.
There is a DOT date code in the inside sidewall area of each tire that gives the week and year that the tire was manufactured. On a 2005 coach, that date may be in 2004 or even earlier making the tires 7 years old or even older.
