On the road repairs

We had a good time in Creede, visiting, eating, sightseeing and enjoying the cool weather. Our coach water pump was malfunctioning and I discussed possible solutions with several people. Nothing seemed to work.
We left Creede and continued west toward Durango,CO. We called a RV dealer in Durango, who couldn't help on short notice, but who referred us to their former chief mechanic. He has a mobile repair service in Cortez, CO. We met him in a WalMart parking lot and repairs were made on-the-spot and to our complete satisfaction, including time and cost.
The next two days, we were able to dry camp in Mesa Verde NP.
We recommend him.

Water pump

The malfunction was the pump itself. Several times we turned off the campground water, turned on the pump and opened a tap, to expend the air and cause the pump to run. All that came out was the accumulated water in the lines. In addition, water was dripping from the pump when campground line was attached. Several suggestions, including manually priming the pump were offered. Not overly mechanical, I called a KOA campground in Durango (our next stop) and asked for their recommendation of a RV repair place which they provided. This dealer, Tarply's, could not accomdate us on such short notice and recommended their former chief mechanic- Dan Sutton. We met him at noon, he diagnosed a corroded water pump and replaced it. Hooray!
