Water heater woes

Post by Laker »

If I run the RB sink or shower, I get maybe 30 seconds of nice hot water, then nothing but cold. Hooked up to shore power and city water, so that should eliminate those problems.

Any suggestions to help this "newbie" solve this
Problem would be welcome.

Thanks

How long do you let your tank heat up for? Unless you have an insta-hot tankless water heater (which is unlikely), you'll probably need 5-10 minutes to let your tank get up to full temp. If you do, and you're still not getting much hot water, your thermocouple may be out of alignment causing the gas to kick off before the tank has a chance to really heat up. I had this problem with mine. Cleaned it and readjusted it and haven't had a problem since.

Check the valves and make sure you are not bypassing the heater.
