Born Frees on Dodge RAM 5500 Chassis?
Brandon Dodgen with the Born Free factory has asked me to post the following message to Born Free owners or anyone thinking of becoming a future Born Free owner.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello!
We are looking at the possibility of offering Born Frees on the Dodge Ram 5500 chassis. We're thinking this would be a good option to offer because lots of people like Dodges - especially the Cummins diesel.
If we decide to move forward, it will be awhile before we could offer them for sale. We'll need to build some more fiberglass molds.
Just wanted to get your thoughts about this possibility - do you think this could be worth pursuing?
Thanks!

That would be more popular, IMHO. Those of us out west pay a lot for fuel plus we drive further.bcope01 wrote:dsfriday wrote:Interesting, 200 + views! wonder what the response would have been if restated to " BornFrees on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Chassis?

All Born Free would have to do is make a body 6" narrower and 2000 pounds lighter easy peasy.

Actually, the intent of this topic was for interested responders to send their comments directly to Brandon via his posted email address rather than posting responses here.

Re: Born Frees on Dodge RAM 5500 Chassis?
Maybe we should open a new topic Called Born Frees on Dodge Ram 5500 Chassis - discussion?
Cause I would like to know opinions and why some think the sprinter is the way to go.
I would hate to go smaller or lighter if that would be required on the sprinter
I understand some like the diesel engine they use in the Ram??
I would think Brandon might like seeing some discussion of pro's and cons from the forum?????

Re: Born Frees on Dodge RAM 5500 Chassis?
Could there perhaps be a discussion of the advantages versus disadvantages of the changeover? Perhaps economical, quality, weight, space, maintenance, et cetera, pros and cons for both owner and BF itself?

Re: Born Frees on Dodge RAM 5500 Chassis?
I have to ask......why is it that you rarely see RV's or Box Trucks built on Dodge Chassis? They seem to be primarily build on Ford or Chevy Chassis.
When it comes time to get a new RV I am going to look into getting a Dodge 1500 pickup with the 6cyl Diesel and tow a TT. 25mpg!!!!! Towing will drop but I doubt it will go down to my 7mpg I get in the BF.
