Post by bfadmin »

                                                 TIME FOR ACTION!!!!

We need a head-count for COLORADO CARAVAN 2014 so that we can:

1) prepare name tags
2) purchase food and misc. for Sunday Opening Meeting
3) ask Tiger Run RV Park to locate reservations in close setting
4) prepare information packets

Presently we have confirmations from:

Neal Priestlys, Tom Barmettlers, Steve Barmettlers, Kevin and Mike Barmettler, Bill Lyons, Rick Zbylut, Bob Boways, John Seidel, and new members Greg & Clark Weiss and Oliver Smile families. Jeff and Linda Jahraus will not be able to join us as they have a family commitment back east. Bill and Sharon Harrington will be on a Maritime Province tour….we will miss you.
If we haven’t heard from you……

please “REPLY” to this email with a “YES… NO…. or… POSSIBLE”.

If you wish us to remove you from this email list, just reply “REMOVE”. Thanks!!

WHERE: Breckenridge, Colorado
* Room rental of your choice (use internet) ….or
* RV campsite. Several different National Forest campsites
are available. We recommend Tiger Run RV Resort north of
Breckenridge on the highway. Phone (800)895-9594

WHAT: Five wonderful days of Four-Wheeling the high passes of the beautiful Summit area during the spectacular annual color show of the Aspen Season. Enjoy marvelous local restaurants, shopping, museums and great company.

NEEDED: A 4WD vehicle and a smile. 4WD rentals are available locally
.
Old timers will rekindle fond memories of the Summit area Continental Divide passes and trails as Wild Irishman, Argentine, Hagerman, Webster, Red Cone, Radical Hill, Mosquito, and others. We will be visiting old deserted mining camps like Buckskin Joe, Como, Sts. John, Swandyke, Waldorph and many others. All very special places to keep in your memory files!

We will gather each morning at the entrance to Tiger Run RV Resort at 8:30 am. Don’t forget a full tank of fuel, sun screen, sunglasses, camera, lunch, water and meds.

Weather can be changeable and chilly at this time of the year, especially at 13,000 feet…. so jackets, sweaters and rain gear may be needed.

Just let us know if you tentatively plan on being with us so that we can make necessary preparations for you. RV reservations are limited at Tiger Run and we suggest early reservations. To make tentative notice of attendance, or if you have questions, e-mail or call at your earliest convenience:

The Rockies in September (around the caravan dates) are F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C. The gold of the aspens and is emphasized by the green of the evergreens and the bright sunshine over the mountains makes everything eternal and happy. The elk the elk is bugling at the ridges, in search of mates. Wildlife can be seen everywhere. Attached are some Autumn photos from the South Western Rockies.
