So, what do you think of a Push Bar on your BF?

Post by stevek »

Saw this BF for sale on Craigs.
Your thoughts please.
I was kind of thinking of installing on my BF.
Does someone here, own this Born Free?
If so where did you buy the Push Bar? Thanks.

That is a "macho man" addition. Gives an aggressive look, as pickup truck ads say, to your motorhome. Sort of an oxymoron I think.

http://ambulanceparts.com/gorhinochrome ... umper.aspx If you wanted to add driving lights to your BF this would make it easier.

Probably carried a motorbike on the back hitch receiver that made the front-end too light

A lot of big rigs as well as police cars and ambulances are putting that sort of thing on the front of their cars now, not for pushing (like in the old days) but to limit the damage to the front end from deer collisions. Usually they have really beefy headlight/fender wrap around bars as well with the thought being that it's easier and less expensive to replace the push bar setup than it is to continue to do heavy body damage repairs.

Here is a picture of a Colorado pusher bar, with a built-in puller attachment (BG). This is on my neighbors '04 26RSB that was named the "Alaska Explorer" when he bought it. Note the aggressive tire tread for 4-wheeling.

I have never seen a push bar that is beefy enough to push something. I have a "push bar" on my current truck and on one years ago. It makes a nice place to mount auxilary driving lights.

Another Born Free with one.
Currently for sale a rvtrader.com if anyone is interested.
Whats interesting to me about this Born Free is how aerodynamic it looks.
Wonder what kind of gas mileage it gets?
Nice looking Born Free.

Yes, a 2003 B&B.
Interesting how the AC is recessed, adding to the aerodynamics.
This model is all new to me. Nice looking.
