Looking for RV park recommendations along Oregon on 101

Live in CA. Will be traveling to Portland early in Sept. using Interstate 5. Want to return along the coast highway 101.
Any info about your experience in RV parks or county parks will be appreciated.

Based on our numerous trips up and down the Oregon Coast, I don't think you will any problems encountering decent campgrounds along the Oregon Coast. We have done the Coast from Gold Beach to Astoria frequently in our quest to escape from the Chico heat. Our favorites are the Oregon State Parks. Definitely two to three steps above our California Parks.

I'm also interested. Will be going up 101 from the Bay area to Vancouver, but not until next year. What about camp grounds along the coast of Washington?

Rob and Joan, we just returned from a trip down the Oregon coast from Astoria south to CA. We love the OR state parks and spent one night at Ft. Stevens St. Park. We got in on a Sunday morning for one night. It is usually filled up the rest of the week with reservations. Great park. Also spent time at Seal Rocks RV Park south of Lincoln City. Nice small park with great views of the ocean right on 101. Also spent 2 nights at Oceanside RV Park in Charleston near Coos Bay. This park is just a few yards walking distance from the beach. We are also from Tuolumne. Didn't know there were any more Born Free's nearby.

A favorite of ours is Sea and Sand RV park north of Depot Bay. It has an ocean view section and is adjacent to a large beach.

hi rob
not sure if you are familiar with the IRV2.com web site but a good place to go to get help re: RV information.

it is free, so you can't beat the price.

i have been looking for some of the same info as you (we are planning a trip up that way later this year.)

if you go to their web site and click on the FORUMS TAB and then scroll down to the RV CAMPING FORUMS tab and click on it.

then go to the thread CAMPING LOCATIONS PLANS AND TRIP REPORTS and when you click on that it will show you many, many travel topic threads with the information you are looking for.

good luck.

I second the Sea and Sand RV Park.
We were right on the ocean.
Also if ever get over to Interstate 5, stop by 7 Feathers.
