Do you have a pet name for your Born Free?

I personally have never named any of my cars, trucks, or vintage trailers, past or present. My wife from day 1 has been referring to our 24RB as Elsa, the lioness from Born Free. I resisted at first, but now I'm calling her Elsa as well. We both agreed to not take it to extremes, but did just order a CA vanity plate "ELSA" that will sit proudly in the born free plate frame.

So what if any name is your Born Free?

Although we usually refer to the coach as "Elsa", we also have a mascot -- a 10" high stuffed lion, who sits in one of the doghouse cup holders or on the dashboard.

He's named "Clarence" for 2 reasons: 1) because he appears to be a bit cross-eyed, and 2) because he serves to remind me of our 10'3" height -- as in "What's the clearance, Clarence?"

Sorry, we can't resist the old movie and TV lines!

Actually, sorry, but we almost named our RV Abe, for Anything But Elsa!

We had a couple of other names based on the following song mash-up:

Born free, as free as the wind blows...
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind...
And they call the wind Mariah...

I, Joe, voted for Mariah. Lucinda voted for Bob, as in Bob Dylan who sang the middle song of the mash-up. I went along as the V10 gas engine has a growly voice, as did Bob Dylan.

Our 2015 is Miss Kitty because she is a very pretty painted lady.

We were thinking "Re-Born Free", but we switched temporarily to be Charles The Second. The first BF was Charlie as "Traveling with Charlie" (John Steinbeck). So the second BF is currently Charlie as well.

We named ours Priscilla, after the movie "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert".

Shilohdad and I had an email exchange and he said he had considered calling his BF a Kumquat. The closest I have come to naming mine is Damnit when something goes wrong.

Our Florida license plate number includes the letters PAW. So we named the coach "LionPaw". The lion keeps its eyes looking forward on the overhead cone and defends the coach on the back panel.

I named my E250 Coachman "Paladin" because he's a true soldier of fortune. He's fast, agile and goes anywhere he's needed. We haven't named the 32RQ yet, but I'm thinking about naming her "Serenity." She's about the size of a Firefly-class ship, and she definitely boasts a "gravity-drive." <huge grin>

Roger H reminded me of when we owned a Roadtrek, basically a VERY overgrown van. One of the Roadtrek owners named his Vinnie, as in Vincent Van Go. Arrrgghh, that was perfect!

We have a 2013 F450 BF diesel with Hickory wood cabinetry. We named it Hickory Hut. We have added decals on both sides in the rear, where others have the model name Born Free chose. (i.e. Majestic, Splendor etc)
Also we do not use the name in conversation. Sometimes we call it the name our 4 year old granddaughter gave it. Grandpas Bus

We agree - it is usually our secret name for what is otherwise referred to as our small motorhome in non rv company.

We just cal ours "The buggy". We know better than to call it a rig.....

We call our 1991, Kimba, from the cartoon of the same name that I watched as a kid. We did order custom plates that say Kimba4, plain Kimba was already taken! The cartoon character Kimba was a white lion, so it made sense to me! Reni

Of course it is not a rig. Taking a cue from Alfred E. Kahn, it is a kumquat. Google it.
