I have a new to me 1998 24RB. In checkng out all the systems and appliances I notice that the chassis battery does not charge the house batteries.
Any ideas on what I should be looking for or is that normal?
Thanks for your help.

Charging house batteries

Re: Charging house batteries
Mark, your chassis battery will never provide a charge to your house batteries. However, when you start the chassis engine, it's alternator, thru a special isolation relay that closes when you start your engine, will now provide a charge to your house batteries. Of course, the house battery master switch must be also turned on.
If this is not happening, then I would suspect the isolation relay.

Re: Charging house batteries
Where is the isolation relay and what does it look like. I believe I have the same problem. On my old rv, the relay looks like an old ford starter relay. I have a 1995 Born Free and can't seem to locate it.
