No Electricity

Post by hornbake »

We need ideas for what to check on our 2013 27’ RSB because we have no electricity after storing it indoors for three months.

We have neither AC nor DC power even when the coach is plugged into the wall.

What have you done to troubleshoot it so far?

Start at the 110AC outlet you're plugged into. Does it have juice? Do your 12v batteries have juice at the posts?

Is your coach 12v cutout switch on?

If your coach batteries are on, you will need to check them for voltage at the batteries .Your coach has an outback converter and I believe it is also your charger . It might not function if your batteries are dead .

Larry, keep us posted as to how you resolve your electrical issues. I'm sure you checked but it's definitely not the disconnect switch inside the door? We had a similar problem several years ago, evidently the switch had been bumped by someone going in and out of the coach.

We met someone at our farm who had purchased a new Born Free a few years ago, just curious was that you?

Thank you, all. The resolution was simple. We just needed to start up the Ford coach battery and wait a few minutes. Then everything worked on both shore power and battery. We think it had something to do with our forgetting to turn the main switch near the door off last time we used it.

Yes, it is important to shut off that coach battery master switch whenever going into storage. Your carbon monoxide detector and other possible items will discharge your Coach batteries while in storage otherwise. Fully discharging your coach batteries is not good for there health and future performance. You may have to replace them sorry to say.
