Body repairs now very expensive

As a heads up for everyone, now that fiberglass replacement parts are no longer available from the factory, body repairs can be very expensive. We had a driver's side rear outside tire tread separation on our 2013 26' Mobility while driving at freeway speeds and the separated tread caused a lot of body damage (panel to the left of the tire, fender skirt, and sewer door all had major damage). Although the initial insurance adjuster estimated it at ~$2000, the shop, working with another adjuster, revised the estimate to $13,000 (not a typo). Fortunately for us, Progressive is covering it (although I'm sure our premiums will go up this year). The second adjuster said the initial estimate was based on being able to get replacement parts from the manufacturer (even though I told him Born Free was out of business).

Do you have a marine/boat repair shop near that you can have give an estimate?

FWIW, Born Free stopped stocking any parts for any non-current body anyway, so they likely wouldn't have been much help even had they not gone under.
