Post by Gene Orr »

Are there plans to do a Bornfree caravan to Alaska in 2012 or 2013?

So far as is known at this time neither the Born Free factory nor our Born Free Leap'n Lions RV Club is planning any Alaska Caravans.

You might want to check with a company called Adventure Caravans. Their website link for several planned RV caravans to Alaska is as follows: http://www.adventurecaravans.com/alaska/alaska.asp This well known company lists 6 various caravans to Alaska varying in length from 48 to 61 days..

Another company offering caravans to Alaska is RV Vista Tours and you can view their website at the following link: http://www.vistarvtours.com/tours.html They are offering two Alaska Caravans one 17 days and the other 35 days.

We have taken the 35 day Alaska tour with the Vistarv Tours in July & Augusst this past year.. It was very pleasant, interesting, educational and well planned. Our Wagon master was Steve and Linda Parker, Tail Gunner were Bruce and Pam Griffin. They were very knowledge of the area. Both wagon master and tail gunner provided any and all assistance needed during the 35 days.

If you are planning on attending the Born Free Factory rally 11 - 14 Jun 2012, we will be there, can provide more information and we will have pictures available.

If there are any further questions, please feel free to call us. Telephone No. 920-452-9124.

At the Born Free factory rally they announced that they are organizing a caravan for 2013. They are putting together a group of 25 coaches. $100 to reserve a spot. I believe they said about $6500 for the tour. The caravan will rendezvous at Banf Canada. They plan on returning by ferry which would be extra.
