Laker,
I would not restrict myself to 2008 or newer as you might find an older model in fine condition and save yourself some money. I have a friend who found a 2001 26rsb in mint condition with 54k miles. He bought it in 2009 and has put on 29k no problem miles. I think he paid around 30k. My 1996 has 81k miles which I bought in 2001 and I have put on 66k of the miles with no issues other than a fridge which I replaced for 800 dollars. I also have done normal maintenance. I paid upper 40's so I have had mostly trouble free 12 years and the coach is still worth in the upper teens. I figure my yearly costs are approximately, with maintenance and (including depreciation) is about 3500 per year. Of course fuel etc is not in that figure. That will go up next year as I will need 6 new tires. Unlike cars, the later models of bornfree are not drastically different that 10 or even 15 yr old models.
Just some food for thought.

Excellent suggestion, and I will follow your advice. I have located a 2004 RSB with 48,000 miles, listed for $32,900. I have not seen the unit, this is all I know.
In what year did BF stop putting the glass window in the cab over area? I would be concerned about water leaks around the window.
Thanks.

I am not sure what year they stopped putting the windows in the cab over. I do not have windows in the cab over and mine is a 96 rsb. I have heard several posts from owners having leaks in the cab over windows, and lots of problems getting the problems solved. Window leaks in cab overs is not just a born free issue. Only issue I have with my coach is the rear bed. I can sleep in it with my wife, however getting out of bed to go potty is a issue as I have to climb over her to get out of bed. I am 5'8" and I just fit length wise in the bed so I would think there would be problems for someone taller than me. On the other hand I dont have to make a bed each night as one would have to do with smaller coaches, and while we are on the road traveling we simply use the rear bed to store things rather than stowing them away. That works like a charm.

I owned a new 1999 Born Free 24' Rear Bath coach until 2005 when I then acquired a 2002 Born Free 26' Rear Side Bed coach. The 1999 was equipped with a window above the cab over bed but mine never leaked during the 55,000 miles that I owned it. My current 2002 does not have a cab over window because it has a cabo over entertainment center.
I believe Born Free quite installing windows above cab over bed coaches sometime around 2001 or 2002. Maybe someone that knows better can verify this.

We had the window in our 2001 & 2005 with never any problems. Our coaches travel over many rough roads in the NE. The 2005 had a different style window than what was used previously. Doug said the new style was from the marine industry. The 2008 front cap is made from a different mold and does not allow for a window, other wise we would have ordered the 2008 with a window.
