Melting Lense?

Post by Brent »

I'm having trouble the last few months keeping the lense in the lights in the bathroom. Apparently the bulb gets so hot it softens the lense to the point it doesn't maintain enough tension to stay in the light fixture. As far as I know I haven't changed the type bulbs.

I called BF, but no help. They didn't know what type of bulbs I should be using and they didn't maintain extra lense.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a different bulb that might burn cooler, even if less bright?

Thank you

Brent.....My guess is that its probably the ballast and not the bulb creating the heat.

More likely the bulb if it is like the one in my 2004 BF BFT bath - a halogen. Halogen bulbs run hot, the higher the wattage, the hotter the bulb.

Brent:

Probably should have asked this in the first place - What kind of light do you have?

Hi Bill,
I appreciate your effort and patience in helping me. This is a positive thing about the BF club.

My light is not a florescent, just a bulb.
