Kudos to Born Free

Post by harrisgowing »

Hi all. We are on our way to northern Michigan from sunny Florida. Along the way, we continue to have inquiries about our 2105 Royal Splendor, Miss Kitty, and even people taking pictures of her! They all like her looks, her super Diesel engine and size and want to know where to buy or see one. Sadly, we tell them that she is likely one of a kind, that the wonderful people who built her are out of business. So, we are pleased to travel in her comfort and luxury and if anyone from Born Free still reads this stuff,
Thank you!!

Bad eyes, should be 2015, obviously. Sigh.

I couldn't agree more. Have enjoyed our Triumph since 2013. Amazed every time I open the door and look at the cabinet work. Will keep it until I cannot drive any more. Just had Liquid Springs installed at Henderson RV in Grants Pass, Oregon and am very pleased how it handles.

Same trailer, different park, says Kaycie Musgrave. In Cincinnati tonight, people who were in the same park in Clinton, TN last night on the trek north, wanted to know about our Born Free. We are downsizing at age 75, but agree with Dean, we will keep this coach as long as we can drive and travel. Irreplaceable.

We have been stopped and asked about ours too. In fact, one guy came up and spent 10 mins talking at a fuel stop. He worked in management at Winnabego.

All of the non-dealer RV's get a lot of tour requests. We kept track of the number of requests for tour of our 1991 Scamp 16 on our 310 day trip in it one year. We had over 100 requests for tours. One year we stopped at a grocery store in northern Maine. When we came out of the store there were two couples parked beside our Scamp asking for a tour.

Scamp's are not sold through dealers, rarely last more than a week when advertises and are made in Backus, MN, way up there in a town of a few hundred. Our's is now 28 years old and our son, when he sold his 1977 Scamp 13 was 41 years old.

People are interested in seeing the rare.
