Im looking at a 1993 with rear bathroom and twin beds. This particular one has the entertainment system in the overhead. I want to replace it with a bed. It seems pretty simple. There is no window. From the pictures and what the owner told me there is black paint where I have always seen a window. Did the window come from born free or did all the ones I see from 90-94 come aftermarket. How much should it cost to put in the front window and two small ones on the sides. I also need a mattress that folds back to stay away and open up my headroom. Any help would be greatly appreciated Im going up to Oregon to look at it tommorow. It would help to get an idea of the price so I can figure out if I could afford it. I also need to now that I can order one of those mattresses or are they too old. I also plan on converting the second bed in the back to a little office with a desk and bookshelves. (I sell textbooks.) Under the bed there where be some storage that I could access from the outside. There is a furnace there so I will leave that one as a bed. On the driver side there is just some box that the guy thinks is electrical stuff. He says it extend about halfway up the height of the bed. Any suggestions on this would also be appreciated. This will be my first motorhome and I dont even have it yet and I have fallen in love with Born Frees
Thanks
steve

Steve;

I can not speak for the 1993, but my 2006 was converted from an entertainment center to a bed by the factory before I bought it.

One problem I can see is relocating the TV and the antenna wiring. But it can be done.

I don't think it is a good idea to put a window in the front. It's a potential leak area, and it would let a lot of sun and heat in during the summer, and heat out during the winter.

To get a price, I would call the factory and see what they can do for you.

John

I second the idea of not putting in an overhead window in the bunk area. I just came back in from inspecting my 2001 RSB after a two inch rainfall yesterday. The overhead window leaked (not the first time) buckets and the bed, underside, window cover that BF provides, and a quilt I had stored in that area are soaked. I spoke to Kim at BF once about this problem and he said, at the time, he thought BF should consider a factory retrofit of a fiberglass cover for this area because of leak problems. Evidently BF did not have a solution as newer models have eliminated the window.
