Convection Oven

Post by camai7 »

My wife finds the instructions included for the convection oven as close to worthless and finds the operation of this oven extremely difficult to figure out. In fact we haven't figured it out. For example, how do you bake a cake? Has anyone found simple instructions on the internet anywhere?

Born Free has used more than one type of oven over the years. Which one do you have?

First take out the revolving tray and wheels. Then press "bake" as often as you need to until you see the temperature that you want. Then press "start" It will preheat and beep when it is ready. Put in the cake and press the time you want. Or go to the local bakery.

Sorry, the directions I gave you are for our Panasonic. Sounds like a stop at the bakery before you leave town.

We have a Tappan model TC 1050S April 07. Can't say about cakes but to bake frozen Pillsbury Biscuits the following is the cooking sequence.
Preheat: Press Convection, Temperature key (375), then press Start
Oven will beep when temp is reached.
Then Press STOP/CANCEL 2 times
To Cook: Place items in oven
Press Convection, proper temp key (375), press cooking time
(15 not 1500 for 15 minutes) and press Start.
In 15 minutes add butter and jam. After that you can smile!

You guys are way too technical for me. I thought the stainless steel box above my cook top was just a storage bin. Are you sure that it is a microwave/convection oven?

Bill: Not to worry. I just got out of the twentieth century myself. BUT I got one of the very first Microwave ovens produced as a promotional gift. It was great quality and I think it lasted almost three months before it gave up the ghost. THEN it became a storage cabinet.
