Looking for a good place to spend a couple days near New Britian in a few days, before the New Hampshire trek...and am having trouble finding much by computer.

Anyone from the area with any recommendations? The area for resorts/campgrounds (here on the discussion board) seems a bit unpopulated.

Camping isn't such a big thing in Connecticut, is it? Seems that it just isn't very easy to find rv places there. Or am I missing something.

Camping in CT

I live in Connecticut, but rarely camp here...small state - doesn't take long and you are in Massachusetts or New York or Rhode Island or New Hampshire. That being said, it seems a lot of the campgrounds are clustered on the east side of the state or down by the shore. There are a couple around the casinos - Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods. Since you are going to the Rally in NH, you may want to consider moving down and across CT and shooting up I95 to I395 to I494 to connect with I93. That will take you in the general area of Salt Rock Campground which is a state forest which allows dogs (a necessity for me) or campgrounds in Preston or North Stonington. I checked out RVParkReviews and saw a campground in Lebanon, Water's Edge Campground, which appears to be east of Waterbury/New Britain. Nothing is really cheap here except dry camping at the casinos! I have not stayed at any of these campgrounds myself. Just hope this is a bit of help. See you at the Rally!

Thanks. The rv review must be new. I'm leaving in the morning headed direct for NH. I'll stop in CT on the way home. Had a prescription I couldnt get the establishment to move any faster on. Shame on them.

See you in NH!
