Hope somebody does have an answer. I agree the door is a pain. I attached mine with a shock cord. One end of the shock cord is on a eyelet in the coach. Other end was on the door. It worked pretty good, but then I got to thinking about that shock cord coming undone and hiting someone in the face, so I am not using it anymore.

I also added rubber padding to the bracket that the latch fits into. This helps a lot on those numerous occasions when the door "just goes".
