looking a used BF, but no Gen, what to do ?

Post by stevek »

It is a 2011 22 foot. Rear side kitchen. OH bed.
So what options am I looking at, to add a Generator?
Appreciate any comments for anything from a small bumper mount Honda Generator, to installing something that would be done at the factory.
And how much is going to cast me !! ??

I am a real dummy to all this, so tell me everything.. :D

THANKS, Steve

Generator Install

Post by Hawkeye111 »

The small Honda is a great generator! Used ours at the fire department a lot and it simply never fails. But, I would not wish to give up the space on a 22' Born Free (we had a 2008 BFT) so I would opt for the factory install. No idea on price, Call Kim.

Gotcha covered Steve!

Ron Smiley, here in Klamath, installed my Generac and I believe he is also a qualified Onan and Generac service center. He's done extensive warranty work on my rig for Born Free. I've never had a problem with my propane Generac and all of Smiley's work has been first rate. Pricing, IMO, seems quite reasonable as well.

The Honda is a great generator. You'll need the EU3000 to run an AC. They're big, expensive, and heavy to lug around. Unless they're secured some how they tend to get stolen.

Here's an option for you: Buy my 2010 22RSK that I just listed TODAY on the Leap'n Lions "for sale" site. It HAS a generator (and with only 40 hours).
Thanks for the consideration :-)

thanks everyone.
Something to think about... the one in FL.
So.... am going to send Charles an email.

Also thanks Mike.... he is only 20 miles from me and been lots of help.

But the BF I found is back on the east coast.
22 foot side kitchen, only 4000 miles. It is a 2011.
No Generator. A big neg, for me.
Not much options, ultra leather on 3 seats.
Nice man... asking 75k.
Looked up NADA;
list is 88,495
low book 58,802
ave retail is 70,852
These include the 4000 miles on rig.

Will cost me about 2000 to fly back and drive back to home.

Whats a fair price to offer ? 70? 65?
Really do lkie... too bad so far away. Thanks
