Born Free factory Homecoming Event - June 22-25, 2006

Post by whemme »

The Born Free factory will soon be mailing information on their Homecoming event June 22-25, 2006 celebrating John Dodgen’s 80th birthday. They have estimated a total of approximately 130 Born Free coaches will be attending this event. Please note that Born Free owners in addition to those that are members of our Born Free Leap’n Lions RV Club will be invited to this event.

I have been informed that the event RV parking will be at the factory site location and that it will be dry camping only but that a water supply and a sewer dump will be available. For those that would desire and want RV camping with electrical hookups, an alternate campsite is available at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds on the east end of Humboldt at 311 - 6th Avenue North and is located approximately 1.25 miles from the factory.

The website address for this facility is as follows: http://www.humboldtcountyfair.com

However, you will find that there is no RV camping information on their website. Also, the campground does not per se take any reservations. So, if you would want to park at this fairgrounds facility rather than at the Born Free factory location you will need to contact the following person in charge.

Carmella Friesth
104- 5th Street South
Humboldt, IA 50548
Home Phone: 515-332-5453
E-mail: friesth@trvnet.net

Please do not call the phone number listed on their website as this number is only answered during fair time. Electrical hookup camping at the fairgrounds is $10/night and they will have 70 sites available. The remaining 10 sites have already been spoken for by a wedding party scheduled for that same weekend.

A map showing the relative locations of the Born Free factory and the Humboldt County Fairgrounds is shown below.
