Merry Christmas

Post by Dallas Baillio »

My favorite Christmas Carol.

I sing it every holiday season.

Sung to the tune "Deck the Halls."

"Deck us all with Boston Charlie,
Walla Walla, Wash., an' Kalamazoo!
Nora's freezin' on the trolley,
Swaller dollar cauliflower alley-garoo!

" Don't we know archaic barrel
Lullaby Lilla Boy, Louisville Lou?
Trolley Molly don't love Harold,
Boola boola Pensacoola hullabaloo!"

With full and admiring credit to Walt Kelly creator of the Pogo comic strip.

Belt it out and feel silly and stupid and smile

In researching on the Internet I found these additional lyrics--

Bark us all bow-wows of folly,
Polly wolly cracker 'n' too-da-loo!
Donkey Bonny brays a carol,
Antelope Cantaloupe, 'lope with you!

Hunky Dory's pop is lolly gaggin' on the wagon,
Willy, folly go through!
Chollie's collie barks at Barrow,
Harum scarum five alarm bung-a-loo!

Dunk us all in bowls of barley,
Hinky dinky dink an' polly voo!
Chilly Filly's name is Chollie,
Chollie Filly's jolly chilly view halloo!

Bark us all bow-wows of folly,
Double-bubble, toyland trouble! Woof, woof, woof!
Tizzy seas on melon collie!
Dibble-dabble, scribble-scrabble! Goof, goof, goof!

And for those of us that have chosen Florida for retirement... sung to the tune of 'Let it Snow'.
_________
Oh the weather up North is frightful
But here it’s so delightful
Golf, fishing and driving slow.
And no snow! And no snow! And no snow!

The sun shows no sign of dimming
And I brought a suit for swimming
The ocean tides run quite low
And no snow! And no snow! And no snow!

When we get a call from up North
And they say they are having a storm
Keep the laughter from coming forth
Cause where you are it is warm!

Though your senses may be failing
There is no point in wailing
However bad it may go
There’s no snow! There’s no snow! There’s no snow!!!!!!

Hi Eric, up here in the North ain't so bad. Today we hit 64 degrees and the Patriots won big time, it doesn't get better than that. Merry Christmas.

And here on the left coast it's going to be a nice warm 65*... course if we want snow, it's close enough for skiers, our ocean is beautiful & our Redwoods are glorious.... California is simply my favorite place... so on that note, I wish all of you the best for this holiday season....Enjoy!
Merry Christmas....Ho! Ho! Ho! :D
