How is BF 26'RB floor plan diff. from 24' RB ?

Post by M&M Waites »

Looking at (online)BF that is advertised as a 26'RB but when comparing other photos of BF this one appears to be 24'. We are 5 hrs away so can't just go measure it. The door is behind the rear tires. The 26' photos seem to have the door more in the middle. Thank you for your help.

It may very well be a 26' rear bath. Over the years the factory has done several floor plans for each length of coach. Here's a 26' rear bath twin bed that's for sale now in Ottumwa, IA with the aft door. To complicate things, the factory also did custom floorplans to order for buyers, so there's LOTS of one-off coaches out there too.

I've also seen 26' rear bath models with an over-cab bunk and a side couch and side captain's chairs... (or a dinette) and the door mid-coach:

When we bought our 24 foot rear bath we looked at the 26 foot too. it had a bigger closet and more storage and that was about it. They made several variation of it. I have the 27 foot now but on the F550 makes it 29 foot and it has a rear bed instead of rear bath.

As Roger mentioned the factory did a lot of customization for customers. However the 26' RB standard model came with either a mid coach entry or a rear coach entry. If you compare the 26' RB rear entry model with a 24' RB model (24 ' only came with a rear entry as I recall) you will find the basic difference was the amount of storage and work space. There are some chassis differences but that is probably not what you are concerned with. We had a 26' RB Rear Entry. It had an additional large closet that the 24' did not have and the kitchen counter had a work space of 18 to 24" that was not in the 24' coach with corresponding cabinets in the kitchen area. We liked the rear entry as it let in light to the rear of the coach. With the mid-coach entry the back of the coach was quite dark. When we replaced our 2002 RB with a 2015 Splendor she complained about the lack of counter space. The standard configuration was the v-couch up front with 2 swivel reclining chairs opposite and a pull up table between the chairs. Common options were a cabover entertainment unit or cabover bed, dinette instead of swivel reclining chairs, twin beds up front or incline beds. Beyond that if you had the money and it could be fitted in BF would do just about anything you wanted except a slide as long as John Dodgen was in control. He did not like them. He finally gave in to the slide but I imagine it was quite a battle.

We have a 26'RB with a cabover bed. In our clothes closet we have 2 doors for clothing, 2 sets of drawers and a long hanging closet. I think that's where they addvthe space from what I've seen from others..
