In June and July I will be taking my grandchildren on trips to National Parks in the West. I have made reservations with two exceptions. We need an overnight reservation in Las Vegas as two of my grandchildren (18 and 14) will be flying home from there. We will be there two days and plan to see the Cirque de Solieu (sp?) show “KA” at the MGM Grand. I have found a CG at the Circus Circus casino. We will not be towing a car so we need something within walking distance or on a bus route to the MGM Grand. Are there other possibilities?
The second place I have not made a reservation is in the Salt Lake City area. We will only be passing through, but would like to float (just to say we did it) in the Great Salt Lake. Any suggestions for this? This leg of the trip will be with two other grandchildren ages 20 and 17.

I never stayed at circus circus , but it would be the easiest to travel to MGM and the airport . It can get warm here in June:)

Dallas,
We stayed at the Circus Circus campground in 2013. At that time, it was a KOA. It is about a block walk to the strip. You can catch the City buses on the strip to get to MGM or Downtown Las Vegas.
Campground was clean and well kept. It has a pool. It is a large parking lot with full hook-up campsites. No trees. Since you will be in Las Vegas in the heat of the summer, I recommend you have a couple of window silver reflective shields to put in the south & west facing windows to keep the temperature down in the RV. We were at the campground in early June and used a window shield. The temperature was pushing 105 degrees and the shield made a big difference.
Enjoy the show! We saw the show during our visit.

Have stayed here before. Great RV Park, especially with kids. Lots of things to do onsite. Even has a beachfront pool. Only 12 minutes from airport.

Circus Circus is indeed a parking lot.
Very recently I visited Oasis to make a reservation for the next December and I liked it very much.
The good news is that they have regular shuttle bus ($12 round trip) to all major hotels and casinos.
Security at the gate as well. WiFi not so good.

Another Las Vegas option is Main Street Station RV Park. We didn't spend the night but used their RV parking while we toured Las Vegas.
For the Salt Lake area, Antelope Island State Park is a great place to take a dip in the lake and camp.

I also have stayed at the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort several times over the years and consider it a very nice RV place to stay at.
My stay this year was at the end of February for 3 nights and it can get quite cold at night at that time of year.

Re: Campgrounds in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City has a camping world with about 6 sites with water and electric (50 amp) for people needing service. We asked and stayed there for several nights as they had extra spots. The cost was reasonable at zero per night.
