Monitors Failed - advice?

Hey folks,

I’ll start this post by saying I do plan to install a SeeLevel soon.

While traveling this week I noticed my monitor lights not coming on right away every time I pressed the button on the hood... like the switch was failing? Now the lights won’t light up at all :-(

The pump, range light, and hood fan all still work fine.. the monitors light will no longer lite up when button is pressed..

Thoughts? Anyone fix this issue - is it just a wire loose or a switch? I am thinking of pulling the hood down to look but I fear the wiring might be more buried in the front of the unit.

Another option might be contacting the company who makes this unit for advice - anyone know who that is and if they are around?

Get your multimeter out and check to see if the switch is bad.

Bill,

Do you know if these switches or the panel just pops out? I was sort of guessing it might.

If your monitor panel is like mine, you should be able to just look behind the panel and and the monitor switch contacts should be exposed. If so, you mAy be able to short across the switch contacts to see if your monitor lights light up again - if so, the switch is probably bad.

This monitor range hood is similar to mine (without generator switches and hour meter). Good pic's show the switches and wiring on the back side . I have no affiliation with the ebay listing.

Funny I saw that eBay listing as well. I would like to just fix the switch if I can, but also just ordered a SeeLevel II.
